It had been a while since she had been here. Ellie smiled as she looked around the snowy street. She had just aparated to Hogsmeade and it was a thrilling sensation. She could see Hogwarts up a ways away, the windows lit up making it look like the safe haven it was. Hogwarts had been the first place she had felt safe. The dark haired girl shoved her hands in her coat pockets and stamped her feet a few times. It was colder here than London where she had aparated from. She walked out of the dark alley she had aparated into and looked around. A few people were walking around but other than that the streets were empty and calm. It was dark out, but then it was winter so of course it would get dark earlier. She figured she would walk the streets little, enjoying being back here before she got a room to spend the night. She could just aparate back home but she wanted to spend a little time here.
Dodging a puddle of half melted ice Ellie fingered her wand in her pocket. Her hair whipped around in the wind but her hat kept it partly in place. With any luck it wouldn't look completely horrible when she took the cute white beanie off. After about half an hour of wandering the peaceful streets of Hogsmeade she no longer felt the cold, she hadn't gone numb, she had just got used to it. She passed the Three Broomsticks but decided she would wander a little more before entering the pub. She wanted some more time in the blissful peace before throwing herself into the conversation and whirlwind of the pub.

There was someone else wandering the streets of Hogsmeade that night. A boy who looked not a day over nineteen, strode half-dressed and sopping wet up from the direction of Hogwarts castle. The sight wouldn’t have been out of place it had not been several degrees below freezing but to Dominic it didn’t matter what the temperature was; he would go swimming regardless, after all it wasn’t like he could feel the cold or die of hypothermia –he was already dead. But there was no use dwelling on it, the swim in the black lake had made the vampire far too cheerful for that; it had even pushed aside the misery of the knowledge that the anniversary of his death was coming up.
With a contented sigh, the flaxen-haired boy pulled his shirt and jumper on over his head. Even to his own fingers his skin was ridiculously cold to touch; it felt like he’d spent the day sleeping in a freezer. He knew of only two things that could warm him back up again; standing next to a fire or someone else’s body heat and he knew which one he preferred. The thought of finding someone with a heartbeat to spend the night with made a low growl emit from his stomach; damn swimming always made him hungry. If he was lucky he could score a meal and a girl at the same time.
Strolling through the village towards his favourite haunt, Dom almost missed the faint scent of someone on the breeze and the sound of their soft footfalls on the soddened ground. The vampire stopped, closed his eyes and listened. Whoever they were they didn’t sound very far away and their stepped sounded light so he was willing to guess it was a girl, or a very effeminate man. Either way he was hungry so without hesitation the boy was off, hunting the human. Rounding the next corner he nearly bumped into his target and was very happy with what he saw. Maybe playing with his food was on the cards after all.
”Oh I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have been hurrying so much around the corner,” Dom apologized profusely, sweeping his dripping blond hair out of his face. He made sure he hadn’t injured the girl, eyes sweeping over her figure. ”I didn’t hurt you did I? I’m really sorry, I must have given you a bit of a fright.” Really he wasn’t checking her for injury; he was unashamedly and unabashedly checking her out and the boy liked what he could see. Her heart beat was strong and she smelled almost like flowers. Again his stomach growled but flirting came before food to this particular vampire.

So lost in her memories of the past that Ellie didn't notice the boy until he bumped into her. She also stammered out an apology at the same time as him, "Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking, I'm so spaced out sometimes." She smiled and shrugged apologetically. He looked young, around nineteen with no chance of him being over twenty. He had sandy blond hair that was dripping wet, far too wet to be just from melting snow. "No I'm fine, trust me I've gone through worst." She laughed a little and pushed her brown hair behind her ears. "And don't worry about it, I needed someone to shock me back to reality, I was in my own little world." She rolled her eyes and laughed a little.
Ellie could be a very focused person but she had been very out of it, unusually so, while wandering the streets. Visiting the past often did that to her, she got lost in the memories, reliving moments, the good at the bad and crashing into someone was all it took to snap her back into the present. After all living in the past could be a dangerous thing, especially when your deepest fears were rooted there.Ellie did all she could to look ahead and only ahead. "I"m Ellie, or Elle if you prefer." She said pushing her hair behind her hair again, okay so maybe it wasn't going to behave tonight, darn it all. She then stuck her hand out for him to shake, the purple nail polish glittering faintly in the dim light of the street. His hair was dripping with water, something she couldn't help but notice. "Did you fall in the Black Lake?" She joked with a smile, "Or is there another reason you're soaked?" Ellie was generally an outgoing person, she loved meeting new people, making friends, she was a people person, which her house had reflected. She had been a Hufflepuff, the people people. "Aren't you cold? I would be freezing if I was dripping wet out here? Are you like, a vampire or something?"
