Born to a God fearing family in the Soho district of London, Dominic was the middle child of what would become a family of six children. The Great War had just started and money for the family was scarce, especially with Dom’s father serving in the army overseas. Luckily for the Spencer family, in amongst their neighbours and friends losing loved ones, the man of their house came home with not but a few scars to show for it.
Life passed quickly and soon the young child grew into a young man. Early on in life Dom got a job in a factory, sorting machine parts but lost his job as soon as the Great Depression hit. Everyone one who had a job in the Spencer household in fact lost their employment and then, when things looked like they couldn’t get any worse one of Dominic’s younger siblings was taken by Tuberculosis.
With his family threatening to fall apart before him Dominic turned to alcohol and hitting the town with his friends almost every night. Women became his number one priority in life and at the beginning of 1936 he picked up the wrong one. It was a simple case of the wrong place at the wrong time which held dire consequences. Unknown to him the woman he was hoping to spend what was left of the night with was a vampiress, and a hungry one at that. Their encounter started out like Dom had hoped but then things got a little out of hand. The woman held him still, bit him then began to drain his blood. Luckily before she could fully drain him a male vampire interviened and took pity on the half-dead boy he saw before him. To save Dom the vampire turned him and after a few days the boy woke up to find the life he had known completely destroyed.
Confused and upset Dominic demanded his maker take him home, so the older vampire obliged. The welcome the boy received was less than friendly. His mother called him a child of the Devil whilst brandishing a crucifix at him and his siblings all recoiled in fear at the sight him. It became quite clear that he was no longer welcome in his human life.
For a few years after that Dom stayed with his maker, learning all he could about being a vampire. It didn’t take long before he grew restless and left him, his protests falling on deaf ears. That was in 1938 and he hasn’t looked back since. He went and fought in World War Two, travelled the world, learnt about the magical world, seduced and snacked on celebrity or two and had many different jobs.
Eventually his drifting lifestyle meant he found himself in the village of Hogsmeade. The rumours of wizards were too much for the vampire to stay away. Of all the blood he’d ever tasted, wizard blood was some of the best but nothing of course got anywhere near werewolf blood.
[/ul] the inner workings
Blood (particularly A-), sex, women of any race, skinny jeans, music, hunting, sitting outside on a cool night, looking good, meeting new people, snacking on new people, being the life of a party, joking, laughing, changing his appearance, consorting with humans, swimming, Hogsmeade, magical London.
Dislikes:
Other vampires (Dacian), hunters, bad people, religious people, the sun, silver (the precious metal not the colour), screamers in both feeding and the other way, getting dirty, not looking good, killing things, being reminded of his human life, himself.
Positive Traits:
Clever, friendly, cheerful, brave, calm, careful, confident, gentle, determined, patient, optimistic, empathetic, understanding, tolerant, extrovert.
Negative Traits:
Unforgiving, vengeful, slightly paranoid, cunning, devious, on the arrogant side of things, loner, manipulative, some-what selfish, deceitful, vain.
Quirks and Habits:
Runs his tongue over his fangs when thinking.
Has to make sure his hair is alright every few hours.
Checks the time repeatedly when it’s close to dawn.
Bites his nails.
Has to make sure all his clothes are folded in a particular way.
Cannot sit still or focus on something (women and meals exempt) for very long. Bored easily.
Mirror of Erised:
To be human again. That would be awesome but since that’ll never happen; eternal life it is. Also he would see himself able to feel the warmth of the sun on his skin again.
In Depth Personality:
Overall Dominic is a gentleman amongst killers. Okay so that’s just a little lie, most of his charm is false. He either wants to lure you to bed or some back alley with less than pure intentions. Being turned so young his mind is generally on one of two things; either sex or blood, mainly sex but he’ll take both at the same time whenever possible. He’s a persistent bastard in whatever he’s pursuing, never taking kindly to letting a girl or a meal get away. His charm and friendly nature are what he relies on most of the time to get him by when socializing.
When simply hunting he can be downright scary at times. He is cool, calm and collected when stalking, with eyes only for his potential meal. Once he’s cornered his victim Dom loves nothing more than to reveal himself for what he truly is. The look of fear and disbelief at the site of his fangs gives him a thrill every time. He also tends to play up as many vampire stereotypes as he can for laughs, but it only works when hunting muggles.
Really, Dom is a nice guy. He loves to socialise, to be around people and to make them laugh. If it was possible he’d totally be a have a drink with the mates after a long day kind of guy but as it is, he lives his life as kind of a loner. He doesn’t make friends, only acquaintances and that’s how things will always be he tells himself. Deep down he really thinks he’s a monster. Underneath his cocky, flirty exterior is someone who wants nothing more than to be human again and so he chases as many human experiences as possible.
He’s a trouble maker and a pest at times, causing mayhem and chaos is what he lives for. He disregards covens and other vampires and whatever rules there are about how, when and where to feed. He’s gotten in trouble with other vampires in the past because of his cheeky and frivolous nature.

From StarDust
The wild night was typical weather for the Scottish Isles, typical and somewhat depressing. A lone figure walking purposefully towards the docks pulled his coat tighter against the chill even though the act made no difference to him. It didn’t matter how many clothes the young man wore, his body temperature would never warm itself. Nor could anything else warm it for that matter, it was one of the many side-effects that came packaged along with vampirism.
Subconsciously Dominic Spencer ran his tongue over his elongated canines as he walked down a cobbled side street. The girl’s scent was growing fainter; this wasn’t like him to lose a hunt especially when he was this hungry. The thought of fresh, warm blood made his stomach lurch in anticipation and only made his walking faster. The closer he drew to the docks the less he could smell of her. Where the Hell had she gone so suddenly?
On the verge of fuming, Dom stormed down one of the wooden platforms, wanting nothing more than to rid himself of his clothes and take a swim. Sure the sea was rather rough tonight but it was nothing he couldn’t handle. He was a vampire which to him meant he could handle just about everything, even seas that could drown a fully grown adult man which he certainly was not, nor would ever be. But before the boy could even remove his shoes his sharp hearing caught something he’d never heard before.
Even above the howls of the wind and crashing of the waves Dom had heard what, if he didn’t know any better, was a roar. Thoroughly curious and fearless, the vampire set out from where he stood to seek out what had made the noise. Even in the dark it didn’t take long for him the find the source and if his heart had still been beating it would have stopped then and there. What lay sopping wet before him looked suspiciously like a dragon but it couldn’t be. Dragons were supposed to be just myths, but then again he supposed vampires were too.
”Well hello there,” he cooed, kneeling down and cautiously reaching a hand out to it. Gently one of his ice-cold fingers traced the outline of a leathery plate and the scaly skin. Dom couldn’t help but smile at his discovery, his fangs glinting in what little light there was. ”Now where on Earth did you come from? I don’t suppose you have a name do you?” the young man chuckled to himself. Why was he talking to a dragon? It wasn’t like it could talk back.
