Sitting in the smokey heat of the Three Broomsticks the blond teen sat at a table, sipping a Butter Beer, thinking she might go for Fire Whiskey next. After all she was seventeen and therefore a legal wizard. It was Friday evening and she had left Hogwarts to come down the Hogsmeade to get a few hours of relaxation. She had received a letter from her parents, via their nasty barn owl, and it had been to rant about how she better get all O's on her NEWTs or else. Well of course she knew that, she didn't need them constantly reminding her. So to drown out her sorrows she had escaped the castle and come down here.
She pulled her wand out and tapped the table with it absentmindedly. But she didn't really feel like practicing magic so she stowed it back away in her pocket. She rested her elbows on the table and her chin on her hands, surveying the other customers. There were a few wizards and witches sitting by a table but the place was surprisingly empty for a Friday night. She leaned back against the booth seat and pushed some of her curly blond hair out of her face. Realizing she might as well go back to Hogwarts, but unwilling to.

Just another Friday night, nothing new or exciting about it to Dominic Spencer. He’d lived to see thousands of Friday nights, what would be different about this one he thought as he pulled himself out of bed. Unlike most nights, the young vampire was in a listless mood. Everyone had off nights, even one hundred and eight year old, teenage looking vampires. Part of the reason his mood was dark was that things with a certain blue-haired student still felt unfinished. He had not caught sight nor scent of her since he’d told her the truth and he was tempted to hunt her out. Without seeing her again Dom didn’t know whether she was just another lost cause or not and it played on his mind something terrible.
Just as he had done so for the past two weeks, the blond checked himself over in his bathroom, eyeing all the still healing injuries from his last encounter with Dacian. He no longer needed crutches to walk, though his knees got sore quickly if he did too much walking. His ribs were fully healed, the swelling on his face, chest and legs had gone down but he was still covered in extremely nasty looking bruises. They would be the very last things to heal as the broken and dislocated bones were more of a pressing matter.
There were other things the rapid healing had brought with it, other than relief from pain and discomfort. With a satisfied smirk Dom noted that his blond hair had grown to almost shoulder length and for the first time in years he had a nice bit of facial stubble, albeit it a bit long for his current tastes. After a quick shave the boy was happy to see he looked a little older, after fifty years of looking like a school boy he’d gotten rather bored of it.
Feeling a little happier the flaxen-haired vampire dressed and wandered down to the Three Broomsticks with hopes of seeing either Ame the werewolf or Billie in there. Unfortunately in the smoggy pub there was no one familiar but there was an extremely attractive blonde girl sitting all by her lonesome –a fact that made a devious lopsided grin come across the boy’s face. By the looks of it she was another student, she had the familiar smell of the magical school about her.
He sat at the bar closest to her booth and ordered something called a butterbeer. For a while he pretended to sip at it; throwing short glances the girl’s way as he did so. Eventually –when he was sure she was alone- he turned to her and smiled. ”Bit of a slow night in here don’t you think? Aren’t Fridays supposed to be the night people go out to celebrate the coming of the weekend?” Dominic chuckled. ”I couldn’t help but notice you were alone and since I think no pretty girl should be without company on a Friday night do you mind if I join you? I’m Ben by the way.”

Okay this was officially one of the most boring nights in the history of boring nights. Yeah Friday. Fun, I'd rather be stuck in class right now, at least that's something to do. She thought bitterly and tapped her long, perfect fingernails on the old stained wood of the table. She had finished her butterbeer and moved on to Fire Whiskey. The bartender had shot her a disapproving glance, knowing she was a Hogwarts student, but because she was seventeen and a legal wizard was unable to refuse her request. And so Mac had taken a few sips of the strong drink and so far was feeling perfectly fine. She would just finish it up a go back to the school, maybe visit her owl Ellie first. Ellie, a very small and sweet looking owl, was the only one Mac could talk to about anything. She couldn't let the school know the truth about her - that she was an indecisive girl who felt insignificant in any way around her parents - or she would face utter humiliating. And Ellie had such intelligent eyes she was sure that the owl understood her.
Mac continued to sip her Fire Whiskey when a cold blast of air blew through the bar. She looked up and watched as a boy walked in, or was he a man? Mac had trouble telling his age, but she knew for a fact that he didn't go to Hogwarts, so he must have been at least eighteen. He sat down at the bar and turned away from her, ordering a butterbeer. A few minutes went by when he turned to look at her. Her blue eyes looked up from the table at him and even though she was surprised she didn't let her face show it. He was very good looking, that was the first thing she noticed, the second was it was hard to tell what age he was. He had longish hair, a clean shaven face, and a very young looking face but his eyes and the way he was speaking, he seemed much older and more refined than just a teen. Now you're just being an idiot Mac. A voice in her head told her. What do you think he is? A frickin vampire? It continued sarcastically, she could practically see the little voice rolling its eyes at her.
"Yeah well I don't think people at Hogwarts know the meaning of the word celebrate," She muttered before she realized what she was doing. You're an idiot. Oh look a strange but good looking guy who could be a psychopath, let's go talk to him! The voice said in a fake cheery voice, she ignored it. She didn't blush when he complimented her like most girls would, Mac was used to boys telling her she was pretty, beautiful, hot, whatever they could think of. Her inner voice was screaming at her to not take his offer, to get up and go back to the school, but what would she do there? Practice a spell she had already perfected? Go to the library? No way, he was right, Fridays were for celebrating and she could do with some company. "Alright," The seventh year said nodding to him, "I'm Mackenzie." She tacked on the end because he had introduced himself, and it was common courtesy, she had that much sense. Her inner voice had shut up now but she could sense that it was annoyed with her and if it had a body it would be crossing its arms and tapping its foot impatiently.

Just like every other time a beautiful girl had allowed him to sit with her Dom’s face lit up at once. Knowing enough not to appear too eager, he jauntily gathered up his drink and meagre coins before settling himself opposite the curly blonde haired girl. ”I would have thought you Hogwarts students would be the main people out doing the celebrating,” Dom snorted as he wrapped his ice cold hands around the warm mug of butterbeer. He frowned for a moment, as though in thought. It was strange not to see more of the students in the pub at this time of night but oh well; it meant he got the girl to himself with no distractions.
”Mackenzie, I’m guessing Mac for short? Anyway, it’s a pleasure to meet you, you have a beautiful name which I have to say suits you,” he said with a blatantly obvious flirtatious smile. Tonight the flaxen-haired vampire was going with the flattery approach, usually with women he was more subtle but his confidence as of late had taken a beating both literally and figuratively. He needed and wanted someone who would flirt back and he hoped that it would be Mac. If she was another Billie he was screwed though. ”So, if everyone’s back at the castle why are you here?” the boy asked curiously, running a hand over his stubbled chin.
”If you don’t mind me asking; why have I not seen you before? I’m in here a lot and I swear I would not have missed your pretty face had you been in here the same times as me,” Dom spoke up randomly. It was no lie; if she had indeed been in the Three Broomsticks while he had been there he would not have missed her. Maybe it was because he had been so focused on the werewolf and the blue-haired one the other times. Oh well, it did not matter now; all that mattered was that he had met Mac now.

Mackenzie tapped her glass of Fire Whiskey with her fingernails as the boy she knew as Ben sat down across from her. You really are an idiot Mac, you know nothing about him. That common sense in her hissed, she took a sip of the Fire Whiskey, hoping that if she got drunk enough the voice would shut up. "You'd think, but most of the people at Hogwarts have better things to do, like attend the huge feast that really isn't so special because we have one every single night." She rolled her eyes and put down her drink. Every dinner was an all-you-can-eat free for all and Mac hated the chaos that usually accompanied it. Most nights she managed to get through it by sitting with a few of her Slytherin friends but tonight she wanted a little less chaos.
"And yes people call me Mac," She said and then smiled flirtatiously as he complimented her, "Thank you, and it's a pleasure to meet you too." She smiled and ran her fingers through her curly hair quickly, making sure it looked good. It had looked good when she left the castle, but did it look good now? Had the wind messed it up on the walk down to the castle? Had her hat made it frizz? After running her fingers through her hair and determining it did look god she let her hand drop to the table top. "I'm here because right now the castle bores me." She said leaning closer to him, "The teachers bore me, the students bore me, right now everything about that castle bores me. With all their meaningless chitchat about Quidditch and brooms, nothing that interests me at the moment." She raised an eyebrow at him and leaned back again.
"And I don't know why you haven't seen me before, I'm here almost every weekend." She said, With a different guy almost every time. She added silently. "Maybe, it's just bad luck, on both our parts." She smirked a little and clasped her hands, resting them on the wood of the table. "Why haven't I seen you here"

If Mac’s inner voice was calling her stupid, Dom’s was giving him a pat on the back for deciding to try his luck with the blonde girl. Even if, in the end, things didn’t lead in the direction he particularly wanted he could take comfort in the fact that he had her scent now which meant of, in the future, he wished to try his luck with her again she would be easy to seek out. ”Ahh, huge feasts every night. Can’t say I have that “problem” these days,” the boy joked with a flirty grin. Really he’d never had that problem; in his human life he’d been poor and large amounts of food hard to come by and as a vampire he never took more than the bare minimum meal of blood.
The flaxen-haired vampire returned Mac’s flirtatious smile with yet another of his own, careful not to bare the one fang in his mouth. She’d said it was a pleasure of hers to meet him with no indications of lying; an excellent sign. Seducing a girl was like walking on thin ice; if Dom touched on the wrong area the whole thing would collapse around him and the woman would be as good as gone. His soft blue eyes were trained to Mac as she ran her hands through her hair. Oh God how he wished he could be the one running his hands through her blonde curls.
”I could help with the boredom,” he said lightly with a wink before continuing, ”but there’s not much to do around this sleepy little town unfortunately. Can’t say the thought of school or the topics of Qudditch or brooms interest me all that much either so you’re not alone there.” Her leaning in closer made the boy mimic her actions. Lord it tempting to try a kiss with her but they’d just met and a kiss after five minutes didn’t really go down well with someone so young. Patience was the key and luckily it was something Dom had in bucket loads.
Damn, seriously, how had he missed Mac until now? The vampire was in the Three Broomsticks a lot but always his attention was caught almost straight away by someone. ”Well maybe it’s good luck on my part that I haven’t seen you until now because now the pub is quiet and I get you all to myself,” Dominic remarked irreverently, moving one of his hands on the table top so it brushed gently past Mac’s. ”I fairly new to the village but I’ve been in here quite a lot in the last few weeks,” he answered her question simply with a shrug.

Mac was used to having a cute guy flirting with her, it was a perk of being her. She was after all Mackenzie Eaton one of the most gorgeous girls at Hogwarts, at least that's what she was often told. And having him here flirting with her was no different from that, except that he wasn't a Hogwarts' student like she was used to. She had no idea how old he was, but he was obviously older than seventeen and that was exciting. The thought that older boys could be interested in her made her glow with pleasure. It proved that she could influence people, not foolish school boys, but adults too.
"Yeah well the feats get boring after a while, the novelty wears off. It's not really a feast if it's a daily thing." She said shrugging. Mac had grown up going to plenty of parties and formal dinners, her parents were very wealthy purebloods working for the ministry and were always invited or throwing huge parties. "And there may not be much to do here, but I can guarantee it's more exciting than up at the castle at the moment." She smirked as that was saying something considering this place was pretty much dead at the moment. She smiled sweetly as he leaned in closer, this was going quite well.
"Yes you do don't you," She practically purred her blue eyes shining in the dinginess of the pub. Her face expression didn't change at all as he brushed his hand past hers, she was used to that too, Mac was used to many different ways of guys flirting. One of which was "Okay you're hot, let's make out." Surprisingly that tactic didn't bother her that much, at least the guys who said that were honest. Those relationships never lasted long but they were always fiery and fun. "Well no matter, we've met now." She said silkily leaning even closer.

Flirting was definitely half the fun of chatting up a girl; it made the want for more later on so much stronger. Just watching her made Dom’s thoughts venture to dark places which translated as a grin on his face. Her heart pounded rhythmically in his ears, its beat soft and calm. If the vampire’s heart had been able to beat it would have been racing with anticipation. ”Novelty does have the habit of wearing off unfortunately,” the boy agreed with a nod. He wouldn’t say that the novelty of her would probably wear off quickly, especially after he’d gotten what he wanted from her; it was the same with most women.
There had only ever been two women in his one hundred and eight years that had kept him in a relationship. Both of them he’d loved but one he’d had to watch die and the other had been taken away from him by her family.
Mac’s voice brought Dominic back to the present. He couldn’t help but smile with desire as she practically purred at him and leaned in again. ”I am definitely glad I have you to myself. I don’t want to share you with any of these people,” the blond said softly. Again he leaned closer but stopped himself from getting too close just yet as an idea crossed his mind. ”How about we get out of here? It’s a nice night for a walk,” he suggested, quirking his eyebrows. He wasn’t lying when he’d said he didn’t want to share Mac, call him old fashioned but before anything happened Dom needed at least a little privacy. {Ooc: If she says yes you can PP them walking if you like ^^}

The blond smiled over at him and rested her chin on her hands, staring at him with bright blue eyes. When he smiled a grin also spread over her face, but not because his grin was infectious, but because she knew her smile was alluring. "Well that's why you go looking for new things," She said brightly sitting up straight once again and brushing a strand of blond hair back behind her ear.
Ok, you've talked to him, now get out of here before he tries to kill you! The voice in her head yelled as she smiled at him once again. God why couldn't that voice leave her alone? Because I'M YOU YOU DUMB BLOND! The voice screamed so loud that even though she knew it was in her head she couldn't help but be amazed that no one else had heard it. Shut up. She told herself. Fine. She snapped back and finally the annoying voice stopped, well it was actually her voice but that was beside the point.
When he said he didn't want to share her Mac smiled and pretended that was embarrassed, but of course it wasn't. A lot of guys didn't want to share her, which was why she never had a boyfriend long, because she could never keep herself to just that one guy. "AA walk sounds great." She said and she took her last sip of Fire Whiskey. She got to her feet, and doubled checked that her wand was still in her pocket, it was. She picked her coat up off the chair next to her and slipped it on.
The two walked out of the pub and out into the street. He was right it was a nice night, not too cold, just a little chilly, and it had stopped snowing. They walked in silence for a few minutes, the chilly wind blowing her blond hair everywhere. Mac's boots sloshed in the slush like snow and she shook her boots off a little every step she took. "You said you wanted me to yourself," She said coming to a stop and turning to look at him. Her blue eyes shone in the faint light from a few lit up shops and houses a little ways down but there was no one on the streets, "Well you've got me alone."

Going looking for new things, yeah something like that. What would have been more appropriate but much more crude as the word ‘do’ added onto the end of the sentence. Though, to be accurate really the girl wasn’t a ‘thing’, more a ‘someone’. In the long and short of it all it didn’t matter and the tangent Dom’s mind had taken came to abrupt halt when his eyes met hers. They were beautiful but the boy was coming to expect nothing less from the blonde in front of him. It also made him wonder if her beauty continued to underneath her clothes.
Her acceptance of his invitation for a walk left the vampire congratulating himself inwardly. He had chosen the right night and the right girl, oh yeah he was good. Nothing like a fast paced fling to get the boy’s much missed confidence back. After being beaten black and blue as well as not being able to get very far with the women he’d met so far in the village Mac was a welcome change of pace. More like the women he met in the cities.
Together they walked for awhile, both taking in the cool starry skied night. Indeed it was a cool night but unlike Mac, Dom did not feel it the way she did. What he would give to feel cold and warm again but alas it was not to be. He shivered slightly as his body registered the change in temperature but that was as far as feeling it went for him. It did mean, however, that he would be more deathly cold than usual to the touch of a human.
At last the silence was broken by the vampire’s human companion. Her sweet voice cut through the chill of the night, making Dom stop in his tracks with his full attention on Mac. ”Yes, that’s right. I wanted you alone and to myself so I could give you thise,” the blond said silkily, eyes heavy with want. As soon as he’d finished talking he took the girl’s face in his cold, pale hands and placed his lips on hers.
