Diana was thankfully too preoccupied with putting the essays into a neat pile before leaving to notice what colour poor Adrian’s face had turned. She’d decided to interpret his offer to accompany her as just him trying to be polite, as after all, they didn’t know each other all that well to start with. ”That’s sweet of you, but I’d feel guilty making you get up that early, and there’s not much in there except thestrals if you don’t go in too deep.” That and if he was having trouble staying awake right before breakfast, a 5 am romp through the forest might just be the end of him.
It wasn’t that she wasn’t grateful; she couldn’t imagine many other people offering something like that to someone they barely knew, so perhaps he was a lot nicer than she gave him credit for. Before even meeting him she’s shrugged him off as the stereotypical gruff ex-auror type, but nothing in today’s meeting had suggested that at all and watching him almost trip over himself to get to the door before her just to hold it open was a little surprising, but absolutely not unwelcome. Perhaps she’d prejudged. A lot. Diana hoped she wasn’t turning as red as she thought she was.
”Excellent, we’ll go together then,” she quickly found herself saying and rushed through the door quickly so as not to keep him standing there.
Hey, after all, it might be fun, even if he wasn’t Abraham.

Just walking beside Diana was fantastic. Adrian felt maybe this morning wasn’t such a disaster after all. She declined his offer of his company to the forest and he decided her reasons were fair enough. There wasn’t really anything dangerous in those woods, especially in close where she intended to go. “You sure? Those thestrals can get fairly narky, especially when Idris forgets to feed them,” he joked.
Did Adrian’s ears deceive him or did Diana really say they’d go to breakfast together? For the first time in a long time the man grinned from ear to ear. “It’s a date,” he laughed and then blushed again. “Well not really, you know what I mean,” damn his tongue. Adrian smirked apologetically and then laughed at his own stupidity. “Let’s just go to breakfast.”
{OoC: Sorry for the shortness, this is a wrap up post.}
