Jake grinned back at Ash, letting him lean against him. After a moment he slid his arm around Ash's back but settled it on the side of the tub. Even though his arm wasn't touching Ash it was close enough that he could probably lean into it just slightly and be touching Jake's arm. He popped a few bubbles that floated by with his free hand, really not wanting to go back to his dorm and his lonely bed.
“Sure, I can help with that..” he moved, sliding his arm out from around Ash and he got up from the bench figuring he'd have to help Ash off the seat to let him swim a little. Standing in front of Ash he barely noticed that if he was any closer he'd be between Ash's knees.
Jake's face fell with him mentioning that they should dry off and head back to their respective dorms. "Yeah, probably should.." he murmured in agreement. "At least I think I can finish the essay that's due in a couple of days..I was too distracted and stressed out earlier to even think." he said, laughing softly, glad that he was calmer and would be able to finish the homework. He hoped that he didn't get a bunch more this week so he could spend time with Ash again at sometime soon.

Ash smiled, wrapping arms around Jake so the other could walk backwards and pull him into a swimming position. It wasn’t too difficult to do, but it required the both of them being quite close for a bit. He didn’t mind in the slightest and if the arm that had practically been around his shoulders was any indication, Jake didn’t need too long to make up his mind about whether or not he was gay.
When he was finally in the right position, the blonde slid away from Jake, forcing back the slight sound of disappointment at the loss of contact. The older male was doing him a favour, not trying to hit on him, and Ashley closed his eyes, drifting on the water for a moment with a content sigh. Swimming wasn’t easy, but it was about the only sport that he could still do semi-normally. Except for wheelchair racing, but that was only fun when Louis was in his lap, laughing and telling him to go faster.
”You were?” He paddled along the bath lazily, looking a bit like a dog with the way he was only using his arms. ”I hope you managed to relax a little...” Ash gave him a smile, slowly making his way to the other end of the pool. Tonight would end, but they’d have enough time to hang out in the future, and that made him happy.

Walking backwards a few steps, Jake held Ash close against his chest. He smiled a little thinking that if Ash had the use of his legs he would probably come up to his nose or close enough. That thought made him smile a little more, Ash walking again would be amazing. Jake wanted to help him achieve that at some point in the future.
Jake sighed softly in disappointment when Ash slid away from him, letting him go easily though part of him wanted Ash to stay right where he was. He watched the other as he lazied around the water, glad that he could help him out tonight to relax a little more with the bubble bath. Jake had the sudden urge to dunk Ash but as he moved towards him in the water he stopped himself remembering it would be hard to get back to the surface for him.
”Yeah, all these thoughts in my head were so jumbled up I couldn't read a paragraph. None of the words made any sense.” He smiled a little, watching Ash doggy-paddle his way across the bath while Jake just floated a little where he was, treading water with his arms just to do something with them since Ash wasn't close anymore. ”I did relax.. thanks to you” he said softly once Ash had swam closer to him again, only speaking loud enough for him to hear as if it was a secret. Jake was hoping their next 'alone time' to hang out would come sooner rather than later.

Ashley smiled, making his way back to Jake rather than the edge of the pool. It was nice being here, talking and feeling like this. The butterflies were still there, mixed with the fact that he felt good in the water, almost normal. It made him happy, humming something under his breath again. He did that often when he was relaxed, just hum something random under his breath. It wasn’t a familiar tune, it wasn’t even anything he was really aware of.
”That’s good. I like to be able to help.” He gave Jake somewhat of a grin, lazily moving around him in a circle. He too felt very tempted to sneak attack the Ravenclaw, but it would be too difficult for him to even try. So instead he just smirked at him, sending a wave of water in the others direction playfully. ”Feel free to use me whenever you have that problem”
He practically whispered it into Jake’s ear, wrapping his arms around the other in a vain attempt to get him under water completely. Ash might not succeed, but no one could tell him that he didn’t try. Whatever the case, he never gave up. And right now he was trying to wrestle Jake, make him lose his balance and show him that despite the wheelchair, he was still a normal boy.

Jake smiled back, glad to hear little hums coming from him since he figured it was a good sign. His mum used to sing to herself when she was in a good mood, but he hadn't heard it in a while now that he thought of it. Pushing those thoughts away, Jake leaned his head back to dunk his hair in the water letting his blue eyes follow Ashley's movements.
He turned around in a half circle, watching him still before he laughed softly at the wave of water that hit his upper chest "Hey.." he flicked some water back in his direction, inhaling quickly when he felt Ash's breath on his ear, giving him little chills down his spine. "You do know that.."
He trailed off whenever he felt pressure on his shoulders from Ash trying to dunk him "What do think you are you're doing?" he asked laughing, squirming around slightly, reaching behind him to wrap an arm around Ash's waist. If he was going to get dunked then the blond would be coming with him. Twisting around slightly, Jake managed to get face-to-face with the younger boy, loosing his balance for a second it made it easy for Ash to get him under the water. Though as he went, he still had a hold of Ash and drug him down as well.
Jake popped up quickly after he'd gone under sputtering a bit and when he barely opened his eyes he realized that Ash wasn't up so he quickly grabbed the other under his arms, hauling him back up "Shit.. I'm sorry. Are you okay? Ash?" he cupped Ash's face, pushing his hair off his forehead looking a bit frantic, hoping Ash didn't hate him for dunking him too.

He hadn’t expected it, for the simple reason that he was used to people being extra careful around him. No matter how much they insisted they looked past the wheelchair, when it came down to things, they always remembered. It wasn’t a bad thing, it just wasn’t always a good thing either. So when Jake pulled him with, he inhaled quite a bit of water, coughing violently when the other realized his mistake and tugged him back up to breathe.
Wrapping arms around the boy, Ash spluttered for another few seconds, laughing and messing up Jake’s hair. ”Dude, you’re evil” He couldn’t help himself, slicking his own hair back, he hugged him for a few moments. ”I’m fine! Honestly” To make sure that Jake understood just how fine he was, Ash rubbed his face affectionately against the boys shoulder.
”Thank you.” It wasn’t more than a whisper, but it said everything, really. How thankful he was for tonight, for meeting someone who didn’t just say he saw him as more than the kid in a wheelchair, but who actually treated him like it. Reflexes said a lot about people, and Ash couldn’t be more thankful. It was obvious in the way he was actually beaming at the older boy.

It wasn't until Ash had rubbed his face against his shoulder did Jake calm down, blushing slightly from his outburst at making sure he was alright. "Sorry.. just wanted to make sure" he murmured sheepishly. He wrapped his arms around his waist, keeping him close and not even noticing that his hair was sticking up all over now after Ash had messed with it.
"I wasn't going to stand here and let you dunk me without getting you back..but I guess I could have just tickled you.." he said, grinning slightly as he tickled Ash's side for a moment before stopping and just hugging him a little, keeping him close.
Jake watched Ash for a moment, smiling slightly when Ash thanked him. After a few moments, Jake's blue eyes settled on Ash's lips and he had the sudden urge to kiss them. Biting his lip gently, he glanced up to meet his gaze and he gulped just slightly before he made the decision to take a chance. Keeping a firm hold on Ash, he leaned forward a few inches before he stopped, glancing back at his lips then up at his eyes silently asking if this was okay. Before he got an answer though, he leaned forward another inch or two, aiming to kiss him on the cheek he revised it just before he got there and ended up planting a soft kiss half on Ash's mouth and half next to it. Pulling back after a few moments, he looked down sheepishly with a flushed face.

He squealed when Jake tickled him, but settled into the others embrace easily when the Ravenclaw decided to hug him. It was nice to be in his arms, nice to have the older boy so close without things being uncomfortable. That was, of course, before the other started to look at his lips. The moment Jake did that, Ashley flushed a little, wondering what was going through the taller boys mind. He had a fair few thoughts of his own, but he tried to forget about them, not wanting to make this into something it wasn’t.
Then suddenly, the Ravenclaw tried to make eye contact with him, leaving the blonde confused and slightly embarrassed, because he knew that his brown eyes wouldn’t hide much of the attraction he was feeling, the desire to be kissed obvious in the warm gaze. Ash swallowed, casting his eyes down and missing the sudden movement that left him with lips being pressed half to his cheek, half to his mouth.
He made a slight sound in the back of his throat, glancing up at the brunette as he pulled back, looking all flustered. The younger boy couldn’t help but wonder whether or not this had been an accident. ”Uhm...we should probably...” He trailed off softly, arms still wrapped around the taller boy. Letting go would probably be the smartest move.

Chuckling at the squeal, Jake grinned widely at Ash with his eyes twinkling a bit from being happy. He knew he would want to hear that again sometime. It was such a happy sound coming from the Hufflepuff. There was a warm feeling in his gut knowing that he'd made that sound come out of Ash.
Swallowing the lump that was suddenly in his throat, Jake bit his lip a little before flicking his tongue across his lower one getting a fleeting taste of something that he could only assume was Ash. He glanced up at his face whenever the other boy started to speak. "Y..yeah, we probably should.." he murmured. It took him another few minutes to slowly pull away just enough to not be almost pressed against Ash's firm body.
He kept a hold of Ash's hands to pull him over to the stairs. The thought of having Ash close again made Jake's shorts just a wee bit tighter and Jake froze for a second, realizing what was going on downstairs. He quickly thought of something to make it go away before pulling Ash back into his arms to carry him back up the stairs. "Where do you want to sit while drying off?" he murmured glancing at Ash's face still feeling a little flushed but the color was fading.

Ashley smiled at him, trying to make it easier for the other to carry him by not completely smushing himself against the older male. Sure, he could do that, but they were friends, and he didn’t want to make Jake uncomfortable. Or more uncomfortable, since he was looking rather shy and awkward after that near kiss. Being carried out of the water wasn’t making it any easier, but he tried to breathe normally and not alert the other to what was going on in his brain.
”Anywhere is fine, whatever suits you best” If they had an extra towel, he could even sit in his wheelchair while Jake dried him off. Ash could do most of it himself when he was sitting down anyway. He opened his mouth to offer up this piece of information, then decided not to. He didn’t want the Ravenclaw to think that he didn’t appreciate all that the brunette seemed to be willing to do to him. He really liked how cool Jake seemed to be with all of this.
”Christ, it’s cold here, isn’t it?” It wasn’t, not to the point where he was getting goosebumps, but they had still appeared on his arms, the moment Jake had spoken, the others breath having ghosted over his body being responsible for the response of his skin.
