Hogsmeade Stadium set for refurbishment James Peakes, February 4, 2025
Head of the British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters and former Chuddley Cannons chaser Katie Bell has confirmed that the proposed refurbishments of the Hogsmeade Quidditch Stadium have been approved by the Department of Magical Games and Sports.
“Now that the knuts, sickles and galleons have come through, it’s likely work on the stadium will commence sometime this coming March,” Bell was cited as saying much to the jubilation of the international Quidditch committee. With the planned renovations and upgrades, so desperately needed, the old dilapidated stadium would be capable of hosting both regional and national games in the future. The news that national league games could be coming to Hogsmeade have excited many of the resident shop owners, all of whom have said it would do wonders for the village’s economy.
Other people however have not been so thrilled with the confirmation of work. “If people start working on that there stadium it will lose its charm. Sure some people have been hurt by falling bits of wood but it’s all part of the Hogsmeade Stadium experience,” said local resident Timothy H. Snorkins.
The almost twenty year old stadium was closed down to Quidditch matches last December when a member of Puddlemere United was sent to St. Mungo’s after careering through the rotten wood of the Albus Dumbledore grandstand.
