As many of you may now be aware, the Hogwarts community is in mourning at the loss of two fine students. For those that have not yet become aware I am deeply saddened to announce the deaths of Seventh Year Hufflepuff, and Head Boy, August Jensen and Seventh Year Gryffindor Scott Kovac. They were taken from us tragically last Sunday evening, in a freak accident. I have heard disturbing rumours that there is a murderer on the loose but I assure you all that is not the case. Neither Scott or August was taken from our school community deliberately by someone’s hand.
There will be a memorial service this coming Saturday for both of them starting at 11am sharp on the Quidditch pitch. I encourage all of you, even if you did not know Scott or August well to attend and pay your respects (attendance will be mandatory). Grief counsellors will be openly available to all students, in particular those that were close with the two boys.
I also encourage those that knew them to leave messages of respect on the supplied parchment below.
Signed Headmistress Minerva McGonagall.
In Memoriam.

I'll start shall I?
I never had a closer friend than I did in Scotty Kovac. I trusted him probably more than I would my own mother. He knew me inside out. I finally had somebody to talk to in him; and now he's gone. Scotty was loved by pretty much everybody, and the Gryffindor Quidditch team hasn't seen a better Seeker since Potter - I hear he was good. Scotty's better.
And August; if you ever needed anybody to pick you up, he was it. Always smiling, always happy. The world lost somebody it needed when it lost August. He made the world smile simply by being. And that I will truly miss.
Saying I loved them wouldn't be nearly enough.

The school has not felt a loss as great as this since the Battle of Hogwarts.
I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
They will be missed.

Well I didn't know either of them very well. I mean I've been in their year and classes forever but, well I guess house rivalry got in the way of a possible friendship, and for that I am saddened. I regret not getting to know them better.

Somehow, the one time I need the words is the one time I can't find any.
August and Scotty: You will never be forgotten.
