Height:5’6”
Build: Slim with a few curves thrown in here and there
Wand: Alder with Dragon Heartstring. Nine and a half inches.
Very strong, but can be intemperate and rigid. Good for battle spells. Acceptable for transfiguration, but not for transforming complex or small objects. Not suitable for light or easy charms. Use for dark practices is possible, but not advisable. This wand does best in classic ‘war’ spells.
Patronus: Eurasian Lynx. She summons up the memory of herself and Winston galloping back home or her first flight on a broom.
Boggart: Being caught in a stall with one of the truly crazy stallions that her mother sometimes got by mistake. This happened to her when she was a small child and it was sheer luck the stallion didn't kill her. She doesn't fear horses or stallion just getting caught alone with an unpredictable one.
Dementor: Seeing her mother getting trampled and killed by an angry horse.
Amortentia: The smell of fresh straw / cut grass, Tigerlillies, Cinnamon and Roses
Nicknames: Jo
Clothing Style: Despite being brought up in a horse-oriented environment, Jo likes to keep up with the latest fashions, especially now that she's at school and isn't visiting horses everyday. But all the same, she won't wear impractical clothing just to look good, and finds a way of incorporating her fashion sense into her daily wardrobe without impeding herself and her activities.

years of age, Looks after the family business with his two older brothers (the inherited department stores, real smooth) .:. Harriet Miller, nee Newbry, 46, Race horse trainer, helps out at the animal rescue hospital
Siblings: Julia Miller, 22 - older sister, Currently backpacking in Romania
Relatives: Nil
Other Important Figures: Nil
Pets: She has her own chestnut thoroughbred gelding (thanks to her mum) named Winston. He's a retired racehorse who was never all that good, but Joanna still loves him to bits. But now she only gets to see him during school breaks because she lives so far away from home.
She also has a female eagle owl named Magda. Magda is incredibly bored with the world it seems, but she gets the morning post every day for Jo so she is happy. Meet Magda.
Pensieve: Jo was born in the British country side as the second daughter in her family. She loved exploring and getting into places that she shouldn’t, and was immersed in everything horses from a very young age. Her mother is a professional race horse trainer, and was the main figure in her childhood as her father had to help looks after the family business, and his older brothers were using him to do all the extra hours at the stores.
Jo and her sister Julia have never quite gotten along and this has always been a thorn in their mother’s side. Their personalities clashed, often causing many physical clashes as well. They were in constant competition with one another, with Julia almost always the victor. Jo finally found her coming though when she learnt to ride horses. She can ride the pants of Julia who refuses on many occasions to even get on a horse in fear or breaking a nail.
Julia got her own back though when she was first sent a letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. The two sisters had often played mock magic battles, that weren’t quite as mock as their parents had first thought. Jo was shattered at first, and then felt cheated - why hadn’t she been invited too? But she did also get the invite when her sister was entering her 5th year at Hogwarts. Julia basically made it hell for poor o during her first two years, but after that Jo was a free agent, and enjoying every minute of it.
One of the things she picked up as soon as she was allowed (sooner as it turned out) was a broom. The idea of flying had intrigued her and there was nothing she liked more than going fast. Jo took to quidditch like a fish to water; never fearless in the face of something new and potentially dangerous.
She tried especially hard in her classes; doing her best to oust her sister and often falling just short. Julia was after all one of the top performers of her year, and her record is a hard one to live up to, but Jo tries her hardest.

Jo was bored. She sat propped up against the window with her face resting in her palm as she stared out to the bleak, windy landscape beyond. The trees of the Forbidden Forest were rustling in the wind, and there were blustery grey clouds floating ominously in the sky. Overall, the grounds had a very distinctive ‘windswept’ look about them. Hardly the most encouraging or inspiring weather one could hope for, and certainly not uplifting.
The term had gotten off to a spectacularly slow start, and this miserable January weather wasn’t helping things one bit. Jo’s eyes flickered to the quidditch pitch, a place she couldn’t wait to go. If there was one thing Jo loved about magic, it was flying. There was a lone figure zooming around and her interest was sparked. It would be a hell of a lot more fun to go and toss a ball around with someone, or even do a little pre-season practice. But firstly she needed to know who it was.
In the back of her mind, she remembered that there was an old pair of Omnioculars lying around in her trunk, and after a few minutes of rummaging around she returned to her seat by the window victorious. Jo adjusted a few nobs on the side of the Omnioculars and focussed them in the direction of the quidditch pitch.
The person zooming around on their broom came into focus, and to her delight it was not only someone she knew, but he was a fellow Gryffindor. Gabriel… Davies, if her memory served her correct. He was on the quidditch team with her, and was a fellow chaser. She didn’t really know him much out of quidditch, but surely he wouldn’t mind a bit of company? Shrugging off any doubts, Jo eagerly grabbed her broom and set off as fast as she could for the pitch.
She sucked in breath and smoothed her hair down as she walked out into the blustery afternoon, only to have it thrown everywhere again. Giving up on it as a lost cause, she scrambled her way down the rocky path to the quidditch stadium, watching the ground to prevent herself from falling over. That would wreck her clothes completely. She walked onto the pitch and stood on the grass, looking up at Gabriel flying above her.
“Hey!” she called out, waving her hand in the air to get his attention, “Do you mind if I join in?”
