The curtains on his bed were drawn while Remy silently fumed. He was pissed off at Toby, and was trying to push him out of his mind... A feat which was a lot harder than he wanted it to be. Remy had been forced to spend more time with only himself for company whereas he has been spending time with Toby.
It was maddening. One day they were making it like rabbits that had just gotten out of prison, and the next Toby acted like he had his underwear carved out of ice. And that made Remy irritated and aching for contact. He had become lazy about hunting for someone, Toby had been easy* and you couldn't beat the commute of a room-mate.
Remy rubbed his hands over his eyes, grunting with displeasure at the whole situation. "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck." He just... he needed something. Someone. And if it pissed off Toby, that'd be a fantastic bonus. Then he could feel the same sense of frustration and twinge of anger that Remy was, and the slate could be wiped clean.
((*That wasn't meant how it was written, even if that is true XD))

Rhys was tired of waiting on Jasper to notice him again, having sat in the Common Room most of the afternoon. In a corner, granted, but still in the room. He hadn’t even seen his best friend – if that ass still qualified as a best friend these days – so after spending most of his day doing nothing and getting severely pissed off, he had decided to pay his brother a visit instead.
Toby was getting closer with Josh again, so he could be anywhere, but Rhys decided to check the Gryffindor dorm first. He always got the password from his brother, in case something happened and he needed a place to stay, or someone to talk to. It hadn’t happened too often over the years, occasionally Jasper got angry with him, but he never left him at a time like that. He’d promised it, years ago, that he would never leave Jasper Cole, that he would always care for him and be there with him through anything.
Apparently a promise like that didn’t mean as much as it used to, not with Jasper spending increasingly more time with that horrible blonde. He couldn’t help but want to tell Toby exactly what was going on with Gale and Jas – though, which frustrated him even more, he wasn’t exactly sure where the two stood at this point. He just knew that, whatever happened, it left him lonely and aggravated as he entered his brothers room.

When he heard the door, Remy first thought to say something mean to Toby, since he assumed it was him, though a smirk spread across his face when he thought about him possibly having brought someone else to have sex with... A scenario that Remy kind of craved to happen, so that he could thoroughly destroy the atmosphere. He sat up in his bed, shifting his weight so that he could open his curtain ever-so-gently to peer out.
However, what he saw shocked him. A very hot guy who was not in the company of Toby, or at least he thought so. Opening his curtain just a smidgeon more, Remy leaned out some, attempting to locate the bottle blonde, when he realized something. If one leans out far enough without any form of support, they'd fall off the bed. Which Remy did, landing on the floor with a very ungraceful thump.
The Gryffindor was usually not so easy to shake, but with his frazzled mood, he just wished the floor would open up and the Castle would eat him. After a few moments, the cold stone under him reassured that he'd have no such luck. Sighing, he pushed himself up, sitting up straight, he rubbed his forehead, which now was mildly pink and a touch more than mildly sore. "Oww." He then realized he looked like a complete idiot, so he forced himself to add a "Oh, uhm, I didn't see you there, hello."

Rhys had frowned the moment he failed to locate Toby, fighting the urge to just crawl in his brothers bed and wait for him. What if Toby was out somewhere with Josh and they’d come back to his bed to finish the night there? The last thing they would want was for Toby’s little brother to be hiding under the covers. So he turned on his heel, prepared to leave when suddenly a blonde boy came tumbling out of the second bed in the dorm.
"Oh, uhm, I didn't see you there, hello."
He nearly jumped at the thud to the floor, his heart rate accelerating as he turned around again, seeing the blonde scrambling up, rubbing his forehead where a red mark was starting to appear. ”Uh...hi” He practically stuttered it out, wishing that he wasn’t so uncomfortable when it came to small talk. Usually, when people were forced together in class, he’d be quiet, only focused on his work. ”Are you okay? I mean...I came to see Toby...” It was pretty obvious that he hadn’t come looking for the other Gryffindor, since he didn’t remember ever seeing him before.
”I uhm, if he gets back...” He didn’t know much about Remy at all, choosing not to listen whenever his brother had one of his sharing moods. Not that he didn’t like talking to Toby, he just didn’t care to hear about all his conquests, sexual or otherwise. ”Tell him his brother came by?”

Remy grinned somewhat goofily as the other boy started to speak, practically tripping over himself as he did so. The blonde thought it was kind of cute when someone else was awkward conversationally, assuming of course that they were hot. When he inquired about his head, Remy merely nodded, though his smile faded somewhat noticeably when he said that he was here to see Toby.
He felt a bit shafted, for lack of a better term, because for the following minutes he assumed they had a date or something, not making the connection that the two were in fact, siblings. For another moment, Remy thought about saying something disparaging for a moment, but then a much more conniving thought entered his head. If this was who Toby had replaced him with, wouldn't it be a kick in the head if he ended up liking Remy? He smirked for a moment, though he had to dismiss the thought, he wasn't a big enough bastard to do something that dastardly to his friend. Even if he was currently being a bitch.
As he spoke again, he listened to the other male, and Remy's mind danced when he said the word 'brother' came out. The corners of his mouth pulled back up to reveal his pearly white smile once again. So Toby's brother was hotter than he was, that was funny to the Canadian. "You, uh, can stay and wait here if you want. It's not a big deal, I'm not doing anything anyways." Remy hoped we would... You couldn't flirt with someone who wasn't there.

Rhys smiled tentatively, moving to sit down on Toby’s bed as Remy told him he might as well wait for his brother to come up. It was a little awkward, sitting here with someone he hardly knew, and he figured that the silence might be a little less painful if he actually tried his hand at being civil and start up a conversation with the blonde.
”You’re Remy, right? I think I’ve heard Toby about you.” His voice was soft, as if he barely ever spoke, and he hadn’t said this many sentences to someone in a long time. Figures...the moment his true best friend abandoned him, there seemed to be others willing to talk to him. Had Jas been keeping him lonely and dependent on purpose perhaps? The Ravenclaw couldn’t help but wonder.
Toying with a strand of his hair, he gave him another smile. The blonde was cute, and he could hardly blame Toby for having been with him. Easy access, after all, and he hadn’t been dating anyone, so fair game he supposed. ”I’m Rhys.” He wondered whether or not extending his hand was the proper idea, then reconsidered, continuing the nervous habit of playing with his hair.

Well, damnit. It seemed to Remy that Toby was a gossiping fish wife, after all, and who knew what the Asian boy said about him while he wasn't around. However, he stored away his current displeasure for later use and plastered on a smile. "Yeah, I'm Remy. Remy Carver." The Canadian decided to focus solely on the guy in front of him, rather than letting his mind simmer on thoughts of Toby.
The boy had an appealing voice; it was quiet, low, and very attractive. And the way he nervously fidgetted with his hair, it was definately some dorky kind of cute. Upon his introduction, Remy decided that he'd cross the room to shake his hand, mainly because he wasn't sure if this wasn't just the precursor to what could be a very promising dream. Extending his hand, he put on his most charming smile and added, "It's great to meet you Rhys. Y'know, Toby didn't tell me how attractive you were." It was cheesy, and overly cliche, but hey, everyone liked to be complimented, whether they admitted it or not.

Remy Carver. Rhys liked the name. It seemed to fit the boy somehow, and the fact that he spoke with a light accent made his body relax a little. It was odd how that worked. Jasper and Toby, the two people that meant most to him in the world, both had accents, and he supposed it was just something that unconsciously made him think the other wouldn’t hurt him. The thought was probably ridiculous, but the Ravenclaw found that he couldn’t care too much.
When the boy came over he smiled, extending his own hand until warm fingers met. It almost made him blush, which was absolutely insane. The fact that his brother had slept with Remy didn’t mean that the Canadian boy would start hitting on -him- now. Just the idea was ludicrous. Though when the Gryffindor boy mentioned something about him being attractive, the blush only deepened, the words making him cast down his gaze for a moment.
It was almost as if something changed in him though, because the next moment he looked up, blue meeting green as another smile played around his lips. That one little moment where he’d been staring at the floor, Jasper had popped back into his brain. It annoyed him, it frustrated him, and most of all it made him want to somehow get revenge, because he doubted the other was thinking about him. ”I don’t think Toby quite intended for us to meet...He likes to think I’m the innocent one.”

When Rhys's hand met Remy's, the smaller Canadian boy felt a shiver run up his back, and couldn't quite guess the reason why. Before he could even get the chance to ponder it, he noticed something hilarious though it was hard to believe - Rhys was actually blushing about his little comment! Still standing, Remy looked up at the ceiling for a moment, biting his lip to prevent himself from laughing at the boy. Remy didn't usually laugh at people while they were embarassed, with a few notable exceptions; if he knew them well, if he was trying to hurt their feelings, or if he was drunk.
Despite what he liked to make people think, Remy could be a great guy. He broadcast an image of someone he thought people liked, because he liked to be well-liked. Though, had he known anything about the human psyche, he'd know many people thought everyone wanted to be well-liked by at least a few people. However, the blonde didn't do any reading that wasn't required while he could be out having fun. Especially in the company of another male.
Upon realizing he had been zoning out while looking at the stone above them, Remy's light green eyes quickly cut back down, meeting Rhys's sapphire pools, and felt transfixed by them. And when Remy finally looked away from those deliciously blue eyes, he noticed that Rhys was smiling. "Good God," he thought quietly, "even his smile is arrousing." He of course, didn't realize he was still biting down on his lip until he tasted a small, infinitesmal drop of blood as it leaked onto the tip of his tongue. Mentally berating himself for doing it, which would probably make him look creepy or exceedingly odd, Remy responded with a grin. "Oh? Is he mistaken in that thought?" Rhys couldn't have known that Remy's mind was screaming for him to say yes.

Rhys was quiet for a few moments, watching Remy look up at the ceiling as if something infinitely interesting was happening there. Their hands were still touching, making him flush a little more. He had never done this kind of thing before, even though he knew logically that what they were doing was leading him into dangerous territory. He couldn’t care too much though, not at the moment. Jasper had Gale, Toby...well Toby had Josh now, so he doubted his brother would feel he was moving in on his territory.
Making himself comfortable on Tobias’ bed, he smiled up at the boy when he asked whether or not Toby was right in thinking he was innocent. Slowly slipping his hand away from Remy, he ran it through his messy hair, leaning back on his elbows to look at the blonde. ”He might be” Rhys murmured, wondering for a second where this would lead to, then boldly deciding that he didn’t care. He was almost seventeen and had never even kissed a boy. If he did this and he liked it, more than he had liked kissing girls, well then maybe he really was gay. And if he didn’t...well he’d know then too, wouldn’t he?
It was a harmless experiment, at least in his mind, though the main reason he was flirting with Remy was exceedingly more pitiful – he wanted Jasper to be jealous, to once again claim him as his and mean it. Not that he’d actually go as far as to tell the older male. He rather valued his life, at least, some of the time.
