Jake couldn't help but glance at Ashley's chest when the other pulled the shirt over his head. Smiling slightly at him when he was finished Jake crouched down in front of the wheelchair to untie Ash's shoes and gently pull them off his feet. "Bet it's a strange thing when you can't feel your legs.." he said softly, glancing up at Ash's face. It would be a curious feeling to say the least, Jake used to daydream of breaking his leg to get out of rugby practice.
He tried to ignore the fact that he was helping the other boy undress, he was just doing him a favor. Jake could read into things a bit too much sometimes and that usually landed him in hot water. This was one of those times he was reading too much but luckily he stopped himself before he flipped out on Ash. Ash was too nice to have to deal with the crazy ravings of Jake Masello's twisted mind.
Scoffing at what Ash said about his dad, he tugged off both the Hufflepuff's socks "No kidding..he definitely would freak out." he said softly, and a little sadly. His father was the most close-minded person in the world. He knew that some of that had rubbed off onto himself, but he was still pretty open to most things.

"Bet it's a strange thing when you can't feel your legs.."
Ashley hummed in response, rubbing at his legs after he undid the button on his jeans. ”When I woke up...It was really scary.” His dark eyes clouded for a moment, though he quickly shook off the feeling. He didn’t like being depressed, having these dreams and memories haunting him at every minute of the day. He didn’t even talk about it, to anyone. What good would it do to tell them how he watched his parents die? How he woke up and was so terrified that all he wanted was to die?
”Not being able to move when your muscles still know how to...it’s pretty terrifying. I kept trying to force myself to move, but it didn’t work. In some way I can still feel it, you know? My body still remembers what it was like to walk...” He wasn’t even sure if he was explaining things properly, though he knew that it was hard for Jake to understand regardless of how he phrased it. Nobody could really understand unless they had gone through it.
As Jake tugged off his socks and commented about his father, Ash leaned in and brushed fingers over the boys wrist for a moment. It was an intimate gesture, no matter how innocent it might look and feel, but he wanted to show the Ravenclaw that it was alright to touch each other even if you were ‘just’ friends. ”You shouldn’t be too worried though. Friends can touch each other even if they’re both male. It doesn’t make it a sin.”

Jake looked up at him whenever he replied to his comment. He felt a bad for bringing it up when his eyes got a far away look for a second, almost putting his hand on Ashley's knee in a comforting way but stopped himself. "I'd be worried if you weren't scared" he said softly, knowing how bad some car wrecks could be. He could only imagine how it'd be to wake up in the mangled heap of a once nice looking car. He'd never been in one but seeing the evening news and movies with wrecks in them gave him enough to imagine the rest.
Nodding in understanding how Ash was explaining things he smiled a little up at him "My uncle was in a car accident a few years back and he lost his leg. He says he can still feel it sometimes.. phantom pains and all" he spoke softly, since they were close and the room echoed easily. "I broke my arm once when I was little, my arm was stuck in a cast for about a month and it was really odd not to be able to move it how I wanted to. Then I come here and learn that you can mend broken bones with a swish of your wand.." he ended in a lighter tone, smiling and laughing a little. "Blew my mind" he mumbled, adding that as an afterthought.
Freezing up just a tad when Ash touched him, he glanced up to meet his eye again "I know.. it's just.." he trailed off, looking away and he figured that it wouldn't be horrible if he let more light in on his personal life as Ash did sometimes. "Just how I was brought up.. girls played with girls, boys with boys.. but boys only were in close contact during sports, never just to be friendly." he said, hinting at the fact that he didn't have a lot of friends when he was young.

Ashley listened to him in silence, smiling when Jake had a story of his own to tell. At least in some way he could relate, and the Hufflepuff was happy to hear it. At least some understanding was better than having nothing at all. He also really liked how the older male told him it was alright to be scared without making a huge deal out of it. The boy inspired trust, and Ash found that it was all too easy to confide in him.
Apparently the feeling was returned, because Jake told him, without literally saying it, that he hadn’t had a lot of friends while growing up. The boys eyes grew softer as he looked down at him again, trying to wriggle himself out of his jeans but to no avail. ”One of my friends back home was like that. Let me just tell you know, if you get uncomfortable with me touching you, just tell me. I’m a pretty hands-on guy but it’s barely ever meant to seduce someone.” He didn’t want Jake to feel awkward around him, or worry that Ash was hitting on him.
Grinning a little, he winked at him. ”And trust me, if I wanted to seduce you, I’d let you know. I’m terrible at flirting” There was really nothing else he could say to convince Jake that not every touch was meant as a come-on. He wanted to be his friend and make the Ravenclaw comfortable with being touched.

Jake was feeling more and more at ease with the younger male, and he was glad of it. He wasn't proud of having a wall around himself emotionally and it felt good to let it down and just roll with the punches. Seeing that Ash was having issues with his jeans he hesitated for a split second before he reached up to help tug his jeans off. Once the jeans were over his hips, all Jake had to do was tug them down his legs and off. He sort of thought that it was like he would help his little brother Teddy dress and undress sometimes. The kid was not a morning person and Jake used to have the job of dressing his youngest sibling while the boy was still half asleep.
Easy enough right? Wrong.
He sucked in a breath from surprise when he saw that innocent looking Ashley didn't wear underwear! "O-oh.." he stuttered staring for a moment. A light blush tinged his cheeks again before he politely adverting his gaze as he slid the jeans down his legs. He reached over to grab Ash's shorts and drop the jeans in the second pile of clothes and concentrated on getting them on. He was in such a rush to get the blond clothed again he had put the shorts on backwards and were up to his knees before he realized what he'd done.
"Shoot.." he said, laughing a bit nervously and he glanced up looking embarrassed "Sorry.. hang on" he quickly fixed his mistake and got the shorts up to Ash's thighs. He was standing up now and leaning over some, still trying hard not to look in his lap even though he really had nowhere else to look now. "Um.. I guess hang onto my shoulders for a second so I can get these over your hips" he said quietly, glancing at Ash's face again. During the whole thing he looked embarrassed and nervous.. but he wasn't giving off uncomfortable vibes this time at being so close to Ash.

Ashley had completely forgotten about the fact that he went commando – something that amused him because in some way it reminded him of Jake’s father – until Jake slid his jeans down over his hips and uncovered his groin. He was suddenly very thankful that the accident had made it impossible for him to get hard, because with the other so close, practically undressing him, his dick would definitely have sprung to attention. Even if he hated being limp below the waist, he swallowed down a giggle, brown eyes twinkling a little as he looked at Jake.
”Sorry, guess I should have warned you” His voice was a little lower than usual, the Hufflepuff realizing that although Jake seemed nervous, he was a lot less standoffish and uncomfortable than he had expected the older male to be. It made him want to find an excuse for staying closer to him and just then the Ravenclaw mentioned wrapping arms around his shoulders. Ash did so a little eagerly, hiding a guilty smile into the others shoulder.
”Thanks, Jake. For not making this into a whole big embarrassing thing” His lips were practically vibrating against the brunette’s skin, the words a little muffled. He couldn’t help but notice how insanely good the boy smelt and how warm he felt under his careful touch.

Jake was glad that he could still keep his lower half at a safe distance, the longer Ash sat there pretty much naked the hotter he started feeling. Making it the rooms fault for being so warm he didn't dwell on the thought that Ashley himself might have provoked those feelings. Seeing Ash's eyes twinkling he gave him a little look of mock annoyance before smiling.
"What would you have said?" he asked laughing a little as he did since there wasn't much le-way to tell somebody that you didn't wear underwear. Still, the situation was somewhat amusing and with Ash trying not to laugh it just make Jake even more relaxed about it. Not like Jake hadn't seen other guys naked before anyway. Once Ash had his arms around his shoulders, Jake slid one arm around the smaller boys' waist to pull him up as the other hand tugged his shorts up to where they belonged.
"Welcome" Jake whispered it without realizing he was whispering almost into Ash's ear. Grinning a bit to himself when he had Ash's shorts on he moved a little to be able to reach his legs, sliding his arm under his knees to hoist him up bridal style. It was easier than Jake would have thought, even though Ash was half dead weight(no pun intended) he was still surprisingly light but solid. "You're not heavy at all" he said softly, thinking he only thought it. He smiled a lop sided smile at Ash, liking how he could stand up straight and look Ash in the eye without having to look down at him or up if he was sitting on the floor. A small part of him liked holding Ash too, it was nice and he smelled good from whatever he was wearing(if anything at all).

Jake asked what he would have said and Ashley giggled, not able to help it. He wasn’t sure at all what he would have answered, or why this was so particularly funny, but his mind couldn’t help connecting the army and commando comment. God, the smell, the feel of Jake’s body so close to his, it made him heady. It was probably why he was being such an idiot. The Hufflepuff hid his head against Jake’s body again as the boy lifted him up, whispering into his ear. He had to bite back a small moan, trying not to breathe too deeply. He just shivered at the feel of the others body so close to his, those lips practically on his ear.
”Boy, this makes me look so girly” Both the comment and the fact that he was carried not unlike a bride would be taken over the threshold. He couldn’t help picturing himself into a wedding dress and nearly collapsed in a fit of laughter, burying his face deeper into the boys skin to hide his amusement. He didn’t want Jake to think that he was laughing at him, not when he was being all amazing and sweet. But the laughter helped him from saying stupid shit like that he just wanted to be held tightly instead of being dropped into the water.

Jake watched the younger boy's face when he giggled, chuckling softly himself since it was a bit contagious. "Was that a giggle?" he murmured, thoroughly amused by it. He shifted Ash a bit in his arms, sliding his hand up his back just slightly and he lightly bit his lip. His groin got a slight tingling sensation with touching Ash and holding him close. Clearing his throat softly he tightened his hold on him just a bit as he headed for the tub, figuring he'd just leave his own shorts on for the duration of the bath.
"Nah.. the hair is what makes you look girly" he said, all serious before he grinned widely at the blond to let him know he was joking. When Ash buried his face in his shoulder he stopped walking and just looked at him "Why are you so tickled at this?" he asked trying not to start laughing but with Ash being all smiles it was hard not to follow along and be the same way.

"Was that a giggle?"
Way to go. Ash squeaked, another sound to add to Jake’s very own database of highly unflattering Ashley O’Neill sounds. He bit his lip, cringing mentally at the state he was in. He wasn’t downright flirting with him, but he was close, feeling lightheaded because of how close they were. ”That so totally wasn’t and if you ever tell anyone I’ll ride over your foot” The threat was empty, a laugh still obvious in his voice.
"Nah.. the hair is what makes you look girly"
He gasped at that, one finger prodding at Jake’s stomach for a second. ”Do not mock the hair of gay men. It is not safe territory.” Of course, his hair was a little long. He’d cut it, but he wasn’t sure he was ready to hear the gasps of people that discovered the scars all over his head. Bald was probably not a fashion he would follow soon. If he went bald he might as well sign up as Frankenstein in the next school play.
"Why are you so tickled at this?"
A serious question, and Ashley moved around a little in Jake’s arms, looking at him with those coffee coloured eyes. He seemed drunk, and in a way he was. Drunk on life. On being here, feeling happy and relaxed for the first time since he had broken up with August. ”You make me this way” The Hufflepuff answered softly, knowing full well that it might sound incredibly corny or possibly even as a come on. Still, he didn’t know what else to add to it, so he kept silent.
