Ashley couldn't help but laugh at that comment, his voice teasing. "Come here, I'll warm you up" He waggled his eyebrows a little, hoping that Seth wouldn't take offence. He didn't usually tease him like this, flirt with him, but it wasn't something completely out of character for him either. He was always the type to take things as they came, and never hid his sexuality.
When he saw Seth, the first time, during summer holiday, he had thought him to be incredibly attractive. His friend didn't seem to think that of himself though. Ash especially liked the glasses on him. They made him into a little more of a dork, and he loved that about his friend. Honestly, he wouldn't know what to do if all the girls and guys in the school were hitting on Seth.

Seth laughed at his friends comment, looking up at him. Everybody knew Ash was gay, there was no hiding it. Seth had certainly never minded, but he had never really acted like it around him much before. The odd comment here and there, being slightly more open about it with Seth then anybody else. Right now he didn’t know what to think.
Since Ash had come to live in England, they’d been closer than ever. The main reason Seth was sure was because Ash was pretty much dependant on him a lot of the time. In the mornings, between lessons, in lessons, nights. All the time. Not that he minded, but the closer they got the more confused Seth got.
”Bet you’d love that. A Seth shaped lump on your lap,” he said with a wicked grin spreading across his face. He didn’t often make comment about Ash’s sexuality at him, but it wasn’t unheard of. And he certainly never made them in a negative light. Ash was his best friend. The only person he knew he could rely on for anything, at any time.
It hadn’t been long since Noah, in Seth’s eyes at least not long enough. So if anything did happen between him and Ash, it wouldn’t be for a while.

Ashley snorted a little, shaking his head again. "You wouldn't even dare" He said teasingly, looking up at the sky rather than his best friend. There was a part of him that desperately wanted to know what Seth thought of him, if there would ever be a chance..He wasn't the only gay guy in the school, and people had been flirting with him. If Seth didn't ever think of him that way, then maybe...
"Seth?" Ash asked, quietly, looking at the grass now. It had been a long time since he'd been flying, and the only time he came close was when Seth looked at him in a funny way. "You'd tell me, right? If I got in the way of you hooking up with someone?" Ashley bit his lip, not really wanting to hear the answer to that.

Seth was about to answer, deciding not to when he saw Ash looking at the sky. The guy was thinking, best not to interrupt. He longed to zone in on his thoughts, find out what he was thinking. It was the only way Seth could think of actually being able to help his friend.
When he heard his name he turned his attention back from the starts in the sky to the blonde next to him, ”Yeah?” he said some what muffled, he was trying not to yaw again.
He tried his earnest not to snort at his friends remark, ”I dunno if you’ve noticed Ash, but I’m not exactly beating people away with a stick!” he said, a grin on his face and turning his gaze back up to the sky. Ash would never get in the way of it, it didn’t exist!
Chewing on the side of his lip as he thought, Seth couldn’t help but think about why Ash would care if he did? He knew his friends track record. He knew Seth had never so much as kissed another person, let alone really considered anybody in that way much before.
He was the loner, an outsider, he didn’t have girlfriends. Or indeed, boyfriends.

"That's cause everyone here is blind and doesn't see how hot you are" It was out before he realised it, and blushed slightly. Coughing a little, he looked to the side, pretending to admire the view. Sure, he'd made remarks like this before, but never in this fashion. Never like he actually cared about him. "Seth.."
Ash shook his head, as if to say it didn't matter. He couldn't do this. He couldn't just tell him what he thought of him. That would be the worlds' most stupid idea ever. Seth was all he had here. "I just want you to be happy." He didn't want Seth to think that he couldn't have whoever he wanted.

Seth couldn't help but laugh, he knew he wasn't unfortunate, but he wouldn't say he was 'hot'. Even if Ash did. The comment coming from a homosexual male did aspire some confidence. Seth let it slide, not noticing his friends blush, he was too busy playing 'connect the dots' with the stars above his head.
He turned to his friend when he called out his name though, shrugging slightly to himself when he shook his head again. Couldn't have been that important. Seth smiled as he finally found the Big Dipper. He always tried to find it, never succeeded. Orion's Belt was easy. The other's slightly harder.
"I am happy, bud," he stated, still staring at the stars, "If I wasn't - you'd be the first to know!" Seth didn't want just anybody. He wanted somebody who meant something - whomever that was. For the time being - that didn't matter to him. He was happy being single and free and working on his lessons, and working out the twisted working of his own mind - to worry too much over whether the girl who smiled at him in the corridor was looking for more.

Ashley nodded. He hoped that it was true, that Seth would tell him exactly what bothered him. Even if he heard that his friend was in love with some girl, or guy. He could take that. Possibly. It would hurt, sure, but he'd do anything he could and then some just to get the two together. It wouldn't be easy to let him go, but he just wanted his best mate to be happy. That was all he ever wanted.
Of course there was a tiny part that wanted to be happy with him, in all meanings of the word, but he was fairly sure that if he came onto Seth, the poor boy wouldn't know what to do and would run off. Maybe he should look for someone else in the mean time. Not to hurry things up, but to give the Hufflepuff time to mature to things in his own pace. Yes, Ashley decided, it would be a good idea to find someone else.
"I'm glad. Mate, if there's ever something I can do to repay you..." Ash knew it wasn't like that. Seth didn't do things because he felt like he had to. He did them because he loved him. And in return, Ash loved him enough to let him go.

Seth laid back on the cool grass, looking up at the stars, ignoring the constellations now and just playing dot-to-dot. Since when did any of their conversations ever revolve around something so serious? They joked, and laughed and wrapped themselves in Christmas lights. They didn't do serious, apart from when Seth explained the accident to him. It was better coming from him than anybody else - even Noah. He didn't know why, but he had a vengeance against the guy. He didn't know him, so it probably wasn't fair, but who left their friend, nay boyfriend, in their greatest time of need?
His hands behind his head, he threaded his fingers with each other before looking up at Ash from where he lay. "We've covered this before, mate." he said simply, smiling up at his friend. He felt bad for flaunting the things he could do, that Ash couldn't, in fornt of him. But it made the guy feel worse if Seth stopped himself from doing as he wanted just to please him. That's why they were such good friends. Or at least, one reason. They never made the other do anything, if they did something, it was on their own accord.
Had Seth wanted to, he could have left Ash to fend for himself. Let him get himself around school and do everything on his own. - but he didn't. He wanted to help, he liked helping. He liked being needed. Needed wasn't the right word of it thogh, he was wanted. Ash could easily cope without Seth, he just didn't.

It was true. Ashley could do without Seth, but he was selfish. He wanted him around, needed him around, not just for the physical things but for his sanity. Without Seth he was lost, truly and utterly lost. Add to that the small but significant detail that he was in love with him and yea...it was pretty obvious why he wanted his best friend around. He'd be so jealous if the other Hufflepuff would find someone he fell in love with and wanted to date.
Ash quickly shook off that feeling, looking up at the stars and nodding. He then smiled at Seth. "Help me out here, mate?" He reached out for him, wanting to lie down as well so he could watch the stars and be close to his best friend. Biting on his lip for a moment, he blurted out something that could be taken in so many different ways. "I love you, you know."

Seth looked up at Ash, to find him wanting out of the chair. Fair enough, it was probably a bit of a pain in the thing all the time. "Sure thing," he said quietly, sleep wanting to get the better of him the more they stayed awake. He probably wasn't in the best state to be doing any helping, but if Ash wanted it, he wasn't about to say no. That wasn't fair.
Pushing himself up rom the floor Seth hooked his arm around his friend back, and lifted him slightly, kicking the chair out from under him. "I love you , you know," the words coming from his friends lip nearly made Seth drop him. Keeping his balance and his grip, however difficult, Seth lowered his friend to the floor. "Love you too, mate," he said with a smile, sitting back down on the grass next to Ash.
Well that just added another bucket load of confusion to Seth's mind. Great.
