As her loving husband so ardently tried to explain to her last night, today was the day that Jasper was going to pay for all her sins against the professors today. But, being the stubborn one she is, she was determined not to let some first years best her. She'd already checked all the pranking places she would use, finding two dungbombs and some other various products well placed last night that were now in her stash.
After de-pranking her room, she now stood in front of the blackboard, making sure everything was in place.
Professor Norma Jasper Black
Boil Cure Potion
Ingredients- dried nettles
- crushed snake fangs
- stewed horned slugs
- porcupine quills (added after taking the cauldron off the fire. Please remember this!!!)
[/li][/ul] She sighed again, not fully convinced she was ready for this as she looked over the board. She had sixth years first and she had decided to start the year off with something fairly simple, to get them back in swing. She was sure there would be at least one student blow it up, and she didn't want something that was a major reactant to go off on her first day. With a grand huff, she fell into her seat behind the desk. She still wasn't to happy about having to take health leave. She was just fine. If not she was convinced she could do a desk job. But, to ease her obvious disgruntlement, she has convinced herself that there might be a possible movement on the school by dark wizards. Her mother had been acting a little funny lately. Like she was hiding something. There was definitely something fishy going on there.[/blockquote]

August liked learning, he liked his classes and he tried hard in all of them. Potions was different though, no matter how hard he worked it was in his nature to be clumsy and potion brewing was a precise art. More often than not things went wrong for him, occasionally they went so wrong he actually blew up a cauldron. During his fifth year he'd set a personal record of 15 cauldrons destroyed over the course of three terms. In fact the only reason he hadn't been kicked out of the class was because his theory work was impeccable. He understood exactly how to make the potions, he just lacked the coordination to make them without mishap.
So understandably August was rather apprehensive about going to his sixth year potions class. This worry was only made worse by them having a brand new teacher who would have to learn to despair at his abysmal brewing skills. Still he entered the classroom with a smile and a positive attitude, his slightly battered and soggy looking potions text clutched in one hand (he'd dropped it in his cereal bowl at breakfast and then a disgruntled owl had decided to claw at it a bit when the post arrived).
He was reasonably early, might as well make a good impression by being punctual if he couldn't on the academic side of things, and so without other distractions he quickly spotted their new teacher sitting behind her desk. "Hello Professor!" August called out by way of greeting, setting his things down on a desk not too near the back of the classroom. She looked quite young in comparison to some of their other teachers, but that was no reason not to be nice so he flashed her a bright grin. "I'm August Jensen. Looking forwards to teaching your first Sixth Year class?"

|| Jasper || { The Survivor} "Hello Professor!"
A bright cheery voice brought her out of her deep thoughts. She carefully gave the boy a once over, attempting to figure him out now. Her main assumption right now that he was one of those goody-goody excellent students. But, then of course, he was a Hufflepuff. They were known for being quite daft sometimes. She wasn't sure if she liked that. Mostly Hufflepuffs were annoyingly sweet, but sometimes to busy kissing up to see the problem. But, she was sometimes Gryffindor biased.
"I'm August Jensen. Looking forwards to teaching your first Sixth Year class?"
"Hello, August. Jasper Black" she replied pulling a smile onto her face. "Yeah. I think it'll run smoothly. I'm sure that you students are above pulling pranks on the teacher."
Though, she wasn't convinced that the "We're not Worthy.." speech magically carved into the Boy's bathroom wall by Kingley about her pranking skills had not been removed yet.

August could feel the professor's eyes on him and he tried not to let his nerves about messing up in potions class get the better of him as he spoke to her. Of course he wasn't entirely successful and he almost dropped the bottle of ink as fished it out of his bag, shooting her an apologetic smile as he placed it more safely onto the desk next to his book. It wouldn't have been the end of the world, dropping a bottle of ink onto the already potion stained (and places seemingly partially melted) stone floor, but it wouldn't exactly make the good impression he was aiming for.
Especially when the professor introduced herself and said something about pranking. There was no way she'd think that any mishap he caused would be an accident now. August looked up at her and was slightly reassured by the smile he saw on her face. "Pranks on a teacher?" He echoed, brown eyes going wide with surprise and perhaps a little disbelief. Why would anybody pull a prank on a teacher? That would just be mean and interrupt the lesson. He thought, brow furrowing as he tried to think of a situation where that would be appropriate.
"I don't think you need to worry about that," He said, tilting his head to one side and honestly believing that nobody in the class would try anything. "But, umm..." August trailed off, wondering if admitting his failure at potions was such a good idea. "You might want to watch out for exploding cauldrons. I haven't exactly got the best track record when it comes to potion making." He lowered his head sheepishly, blushing a little.
