Oh good God, the world was white again.
Tenebrus really couldn’t explain how these things happened even if he wanted to. Not that literally having the mental facilities of a thestral really helped. He was smart, but, well, not that smart.
It was painful o’clock in the morning when he awoke shivering. Sticking to the rest of the herd for warmth did a treat usually, but that didn’t completely get rid of the cold. The weak sun was casting a silvery light over the black and dark green of the forest which, as Tenebrus noted much to his interest, was now newly splattered with white snow under the bigger gaps in the trees. The sight held his attention for a moment before he realised that he too had been snowed on overnight and shook the flakes off his back.
There was really only one thing to do when it snowed: act like an idiot.
After breaking off from the herd Tenebrus made his familiar way to the Hogwarts grounds, the snow getting thicker as the trees thinned. The grounds were empty, but he wasn’t surprised; the kids rarely came out this early when the sun wasn’t even up properly, especially not at this sort of insane temperature. The ground was dusted with a decent layer of snow perfect for running around like a lunatic. He wasn’t sure what it was, but the cold always put the devil in him.
Looking almost creepily like a literal bat out of hell, Tenebrus shot off in the direction of the school, tearing across the grounds and deliberately kicking up a flurry of snow behind him. Haha! Wee! He spent a few minutes zigzagging back and forth, a mixture of running around; bucking and beating his wings to try and stir the snow back up. There were really no words for it aside from ‘frolicking’.
Must have been a very strange sight; snow leaping up randomly all over the place and a myriad of crisscrossing prints and gouges in the deeper parts of snow from his legs just making themselves.

She'd not slept all night, not an uncommon occurence for her, and had already convinced ther house elves in the kitchen to make her an early breakfast, which consisted of some porrige, an apple and an assortment of sweets. Having finished the only product that required her sitting still, she pocketed the sweets and, after thanking the elves, made her way to the grounds, crunching on her apple on the way.
Acia loved snow. It was calm and soft, and it made everyone happy. Even if it could be painfully cold at times, it was worth the joy it bought people. She had yet to met a single person or animal that didn't like snow. In fact, people liked it so much that they found the need to throw it at each other. She wasn't so fond of this, and hoped to make the best of the weather before anyone interrupted her with a snowball fight.
On entering the grounds, however, Acia was met with an extremely strange slight. Snow was flying everywhere, throwing itself up off the floor, as if something was running through it. But... there was nothing there? She frowned softly at the sight, then blinked hard to make sure she wasn't hallucinating.
The snow was still flying. She knew Hogwarts was full of strange things, but she'd never seen this before. She gingerly stepped out on to the snow, not sure what to do with herself now.
"Uhh...Hello?" She called out softly, feeling silly for talking to nothing. She hoped she'd get some sort of reply from it, though.
((Not a very good post, I apologise D:))

|| OoC || Heh, it’s a fluff thread. Quality isn’t the point as long as we cough posts out. <3 || Tenebrus had done a fantastic job of once again becoming oblivious to his surroundings. After all, no one was there right? So he could just dart up and down like a nutter and not worry about anything. In fact, he’d almost slammed into a tree. Twice. The same one. Funny what horses could end up doing when properly preoccupied.
The fun didn’t last forever, although the interruption was not necessarily unwelcome. Acia’s voice was soft and sweet but in the silence of the morning it was still audible enough to be heard even over the crunching of the snow Tenebrus was launching into. The thestral skid to a halt with the kind of look a dog might give caught red handed trying to thieve cookies fresh out of the oven, although on a demonic horse-like face it was less cute and more, well, nauseating.
To his joy, it wasn’t a teacher that would try and shoo him back to the forest, but a student! And a yellow student of all things, his favourite colour of the bunch! They were always so much friendlier than the others, the green usually always tried to shoot hurty-light out of sticks and the other two could go either way. Besides, this one (as he observed as he flared his nostrils in response to the breeze blowing her scent in his direction) smelled like food. Human food. Goood food. The stuff they ate didn’t always taste the best but because everything was so radically different it was worth a shot.
It was the apple he noticed first, and without thinking gave an excited, bloodcurdling shriek and trotted up to the girl, hooves crunching into the snow and leaving behind some bizarre prints. His white, glassy eyes were fixed greedily on the treat and with a snap of fangs he basically clean lopped off the top half of the apple that was still left and may have just taken Acia’s fingers along with it if he wasn’t being careful.
Finding the apple less than appetising, Tenebrus stubbornly spat out the remains and decided to find out something else worth eating. With no through for personal space he proceeded to attempt to sniff the girl thoroughly, paying special attention to her pockets to investigate the presence of possible goodies.

The snow had stopped flying enough for Acia to make out the tracks in the snow. It didn't help much, as mostly they were huge gouges rather than complete prints, but as she followed them around, she noticed new ones appearing, coming closer to her. They looked rather like hooves - A horse-like animal, then? If only her mind worked better, she'd actually be able to remember what kind of invisible animal slightly resembled a horse. Not that it'd help her much, but she'd like to know what she was dealing with.
She was dragged from her thoughts when a rush of air brushed her fingers, making her jump slightly. She looked down at the hand holding her apple - more than half of it had been chopped off in a large, clean but rather visible bite. Seconds later, the missing bit flew to the ground, thoroughly chewed on this time. The creature obviously did not approve of the fruit.
"Hey, that was my lunch, you know!" She giggled out loud, looking around herself to try and work out where the animal would go next. It seemed to be extremely close to her, searching for something. It was a very strange sensation, being examined by something you couldn't see. "You know, I could probably help you more if you let me know where you were?" She asked gently, still turning about to try and see the invisible being.

Well, she didn’t seem to mind him sniffing around so Tenebrus bumped it up to level two. Precisely, a lot of poking and prodding demandingly with his nose into her sides and back coupled with letting loose a lot of mildly horrifying hissing sounds which were meant to be encouraging but failed at being so somewhat spectacularly.
Hmm, yes, there was definitely a smell of something nommy somewhere. Not as appetising as say, a freshly cooked sausage, but it was still a highly sweet, attractive scent. Smelled kind of like the molasses that Idris sprinkled on the food supplements he never wanted to eat to make it more palatable. Molasses was goood, maybe whatever that stuff was would be too. A quick search later and Tenebrus isolated the pocket the smell of the sweets was filtering from.
Not wasting a moment Tenebrus proceeded to try and jam his nose into the pocket of Acia’s robes to reach the lollies. Of course, Acia’s robe pockets were not very wide and Tenebrus had a rather huge nose so the attempt epitomised unsuccessful. Not one to but put off by something so simple Tenebrus unadvisedly put his shoulder into it, trying to push his nose in anyway. Ripped fabric and a knocked over Acia be damned, he wanted CANDY!

This was far, far too strange. Some invisible being was giving her a real pat-down search now, if you could call it that. The sort of search they'd give you at Customs in the airport, or the one she got when she went to see the Spice Girls when she was ten. There was no doubt that the creature was looking for something now, and Acia was beginning to feel a little harrassed. She decided the process would be hurried up if she helped, and started patting all possible places where she could be hiding things. "I'm not sure what you're looking for..." She stated. "But, oh! Hey!" Her fingers had just found the lump in the pocket when the animal dived into it. Being of a relatively small stature, the force of it was easily enough to knock her over, and she fell ungracefully to the floor. "That hurt." She frowned, attempting to look up to the animal, and then remembering she couldn't see it anyway. She pulled one of the sweets from her pocket, and pulled the wrapper off of it. "Is this what you wanted?" She asked it, offering it to the creature on an open palm and hoping that it wouldn't nearly chop her fingers off again. (OOC - Can humans hear thestrals if they can't see them? )

|| OoC || I’m not sure, but me and everyone else have been playing it as though they can be to make it easier. Also, check it; we got us some Fanart! || It was a miracle that Acia even managed to pull the wrapper off to be honest. Tenebrus was so darn insistent. The second she pulled the sweet out he was already there nudging her hand and trying to pry it loose. Tenebrus had never gotten the basic sum of plastic not equalling edible, and it wasn’t the first time either. Evidently he wasn’t used to the concept of chewing either; the moment he got his teeth on it the lolly was well and truly gone. Eh, slight sweet taste on the way down, but way too tiny. How could people suffer to eat stuff so minuscule? It wasn’t even chewy! Silly creatures. Maybe if you had a lot at once? And hell, food was food.
Besides, what was the girl doing on the floor? He only had the dull recognition that she was down there because of him. Maybe she was rolling in the snow? That was always refreshing for a stubborn itch, aside from the fact she wasn’t rolling. Oh well, she could be as crazy as she liked as long as she had more lollies, and from the smell of it, she did indeed. Tenebrus, in being both distracted and not paying attention, ended up bringing his foot way too close to Acia’s hand as he resumed trying to mine out her pocket with his face. || OoC || Permission to assume he stepped on her hand in this post? He’s quite heavy, so that would hurt. ^^; ||
