Walking down towards the lakes edge Dominique appeared to be glowing. The moon reflecting off her new white laced bodice that looked as though it had been sent through time because of the style in which it was made, matched with her favorite pair of dark washed jeans that completed the outfit Dominique looked like she stepped out of a fashion magazine.
Stepping closer to the lakes edge Dominique could barely make out the outline of the giant squid as it lay on a rock in the center of the lack. Dominique remembered hearing the stories from her grandparents from when students used to be able to swim in the lake without fear. Now students couldn’t very well walk up to their ankles in the water without fear of something grabbing them.
Looking up at the full moon caused Dominique to smile, she always loved the moon, even as a child it always made her feel safe. Probably because of the stages it went through. Her mom telling her that out darkest times often lead us to our brightest. The darkest of course was when there was no moon, and the brightest being the full. Smiling at the memory Dominique closed her eyes as she remembered the midnight picnics her family would take her on when they were in town during the few breaks they got during her youth.
Dominique wrapped her arms around herself and continued to look at the lake. The moon’s glow reflecting easily off the surface as the soft waves lapped just below from where her boots where. Bending her knees to wear she was resting on them Dominique stuck her hand in the cool water and let the small waves over her hand…

Ryan wasn't going anywhere specific, and he wasn't quite sure why he was bringing a copy of the damn paper with him. He'd tried finding as much of them as he could, only to dispose of them in the forest or the lake or somewhere else. Still, he was fairly sure that the matter had gone over the entire school by now.
He'd been wondering what to say to Dominique if he saw her. They weren't dating, but they might, and he wanted to be honest. He needed to be honest even if it killed their pre-dating buzz. Because when he really liked someone, he couldn't just go behind her back. He couldn't pretend to be the perfect boyfriend, no matter how much he would end up liking her.
Did You Hear...? Age Is Nothing But A Number Mr. Slim-and-Sexy, Ryan Robins, has apparently got a thing going with shy Professor Blake. Yours truly saw them getting shoved into a broom cupboard, and neither of the two really seemed to protest. In fact, the two didn't reappear for quite some time, which leads to the age-old question...Is age really nothing but a number? Are student-teacher relationships just like any other gossip or do we have something of a forbidden love going on? Looking at the paper, whose content he knew by heart, he found his footsteps leading him towards the lake, where a dark figure sat near the waters edge. Ryan found his heart skipping a beat in fear or excitement when he realized it was Dominique and sat down next to her. He wasn't quite sure what to say and just sat there, handing her the paper and wrapping arms around his knees after he'd brought them up to his chest.[/blockquote]

Dominique grabbed the paper that Ryan was handing to her, she had already read it. And it made her think Kris was right, but she wanted to give Ryan the benefit of the doubt. Their date at hogsmeade had been near prefect, and Dominique was really starting to like Ryan which only made her even more worried that she was going to get hurt.
Dominique shrugged as she placed the paper back down of the ground and looked at Ryan, “I’ve already read it.” Dominique said simply she didn’t know what to say to Ryan. She didn’t know if she should be angry or hurt. They weren’t dating so she couldn’t really be angry at him but she had thought there was a chance that they could have be dating and now Dominique didn’t know if that chance was still there.
How could she compete with a teacher? She had seen the Professor Ryan had apparently had these relations with and he might not be he best looking but he was so much more mature knew more than Dominique could ever wish to know at her age, and so Dominique figured she was more jealous, jealous of the fact that he got Ryan and she once again got her heart broken because she let her feelings come far to quickly.

“I’ve already read it.”
Her voice was quiet, making Ryan wince a little as he looked at the lake. He was suddenly wondering what to do. If he told her the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth...she was most likely going to tell the Headmistress. Which would lead to his expulsion and the teacher getting sacked, if he wasn't careful. No matter how he felt about the man, he didn't want him hurt.
"It's not what you think" He started, voice just as quiet and hesitant as hers had been. "It's not the way the paper made it." Even if the paper had been dead-on about something happening in the broom cupboard, it wasn't what happened that mattered but why it had happened in the first place.
"I'm going to tell you the truth, if you want to listen to me." Ryan wasn't about to beg her to explain himself, they weren't dating, but he'd kinda like to. Still, it was beneath him to grovel like that, and he wouldn't offer her the truth if she wouldn't keep silent about it. "However, I'd like the truth to be between us."

Dominique turned eyes narrowing a bit at Ryan assuming what she was thinking, “Really? How do you know what I’m thinking?” she snapped and then felt bad afterwards, “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have snapped at you.”
Dominique pulled her knees up to her chest and rested her cheek against her knee looking at Ryan as he looked out over the lake, “Okay.” She whispered in a quiet voice. She wanted to know what happened, and she wanted to know the truth, she had heard it had happened, she had heard it was a lie, and she had heard it was a pity blow. She didn’t know what had really happened and she wanted to.
“I’m not going to tell anyone Ry, I wouldn’t do that, if someone tells me something it stays with me till the end.” Dominique said simply. She didn’t tell secrets, she wouldn’t want people telling hers if she had any bad ones, well she did have a bad one, but that one no one knew about, not even Louis and she wanted to keep it that way as long as she could.

“I’m sorry I shouldn’t have snapped at you.”
Ryan shrugged one shoulder, glancing at her for a moment. "That's okay." He would've expected worse, to be honest. Dominique didn't seem like the kind of girl that would avoid confrontations. Breathing deeply and evenly, he looked at the lake again. The wind made soft ripples on the water, blowing it towards the edges of the lake where it made small sounds, hitting against the sand. He loved water. He loved the fact that things could change and still seem so similar to those that weren't watching too closely.
Right. The truth. Ryan coughed once, not really sure where to start them off. He wanted to say things in such a way that she wouldn't immediately run off when he started talking. "I suppose there's quite a long history I should tell you about. This...well no, let's start at this. The papers weren't right. They just weren't wrong either."
He glanced at her, wondering what she was thinking right now. This wasn't going to get any easier, no matter how long he waited. So he closed his eyes for a moment, rubbing his neck, before turning slightly towards her so she could see the truth in his eyes. "Something did happen that night. But it's not his fault."

Dominique closed her eyes as Ryan said the papers weren’t wrong but they weren’t right either. It served Dominique right for getting her hopes up, it’s just what she had been telling herself not to do, not to get to attached before you found out his true colors, what sucked the most was that Kris had been right, she really should have listened to him.
“Meaning?” Dominique asked in regards to what Ryan said about the papers as she opened her eyes to look at him again, then when she heard him say something did happen she closed her eyes again and took a deep breathe.
Standing she brushed the dirt from her pants and looked down at Ryan, “Actually I don’t think I want to know.” She said simply as she turned to walk away only to stop when she had moved only a couple of feet, “I hope you and this professor are happy.” She said with a sad smile she wanted Ryan to be happy and if it wasn’t with her, she’d deal

Ryan looked up at her as she got to her feet gracefully, her voice still simple but cutting through him all the same. He shivered, bringing his knees to his chest once again, not sure if he even had the right to call her back. However, when she remained standing a few feet away and called out “I hope you and this professor are happy.", he had to respond. The first that came from his lips was a scoff.
"It's not that." He pushed himself up, clenching his fists for a moment before rubbing the back of his neck again, one of his nervous habits. He was scared that she would go back on her word, that she would tell someone what he'd divulged to her. "I don't like him." It could have sounded like a lie, but it wasn't one. He didn't like the man. Yes, he had some strange urge to fuck him, but that happened all the time. Monogamy wasn't one of his strong points, but it never had to do with the messy world of feelings. Lust, however much it could destroy, was a simple, primal emotion.
"Domi" Ryans voice sounded pleading as he took a few hesitant steps in her direction. "I wanted him. But not like you think. I'm willing to explain what it was about, if you'll give me that chance. Will you please listen to me?" He walked up to her, taking her hand in his and just turning her face with the other. "I want you to know the truth, because I care about you."

As Ryan took Dominique’s hand and used his other to force her face to face him her breathe left her, looking in his eyes she listened to him ask her to listen to him, and he’d explain everything, “Alright” Dominique said searching his eyes to see if she could get anything out of them, she couldn’t.
When Ryan said he wanted her to know because he cared Dominique smiled a little, “Okay, tell me please.” She said smiling a little, she had been lying when she said she didn’t really want to know, she did, but she didn’t want to know that Ryan had chosen the professor over her, but even if he had she wanted to remain friends with him.
Dominique stood there looking at Ryan as she waited for him to tell her what had happened, she was tired of hearing all the different versions, it was about time that she got the truth, and it was going to be the truth from one of the parties involved. {ooc: I apologize for the suckiness}

Ryan motioned for her to sit down again, letting go of her hand though he liked the warmth it had given him. There was something comforting about a girls' touch, yet he wasn't sure if he could ever end up being married to a girl. Probably not to a guy either, though. It was hard to stick to rules, even though his own comforted him, rules inforced by others often felt suffocating.
"It's a long story" His voice was soft as he took off his coat and handed it to her, not wanting her to get cold while they were talking. He was only dressed in a white t-shirt and faded black jeans, but he was used to the cold. Not eating tended to make him feel cold all the time. "About a year ago, I got sent to a psychiatrist by my parents. They'd found out about some stuff that went on here at Hogwarts. My dad had caught rumors of me fucking half of the student body..."
It had been true, which had actually made him feel like he'd finally managed to upset his father somehow. He would never be the perfect son, that had been established years ago, but everyone thought that famous, perfect Aurors had to make great parents. Well, they didn't. Not in this case, and he sort of loved playing with their reputation. "The first time I got there, I just lied to the guy. I didn't think I needed help..."
