Introducing...
Name:
Lily Luna Potter [the second, technically].
Age:
7th October; fourteen years old [soon to be fifteen!].
Gender:
Female.
Year:
Fourth.
Birthplace:
London, England.
Ethnicity:
Caucasian.
Blood:
For the sake of it, half-blood [though it's technically more three quarters blood].
Relatives:
*deep breath*
Pets:
Harris is a tawny owl, quite tame and willing to do pretty much anything if you give him a snack, but Lily loves him all the same. He's the first pets she was ever allowed, as her parents hadn't been sure she would be old enough to look after anything else,
Wand Type:
Pine and dragon heartstring, 8 inches. The wand is not very flexible and is quite cold [almost clinical], although it is strong and precise. According to Ollivander, it's good for average level transfiguration and reflects Lily's slightly cynical and difficult nature. She has found it extremely reliable, and much to the annoyance of some of her classmates, she refuses to say she likes the thing because she doesn't. It's just a tool, why should she form any attachment to it?
Appearance
Picture:
Hair Colour:
Red.
Eye Colour:
Blue.
Build:
Lily is quite thin, although not dangerously so, and she has inherited the height of her uncle Ron, standing at 5' 7” and still growing. She has absolutely no muscle on her whatsoever, but that generally doesn't matter as she's got her magic [and her family] to back her up.
Skin Tone:
Like most redheads, Lily is fairly pale and has a small smattering of freckles across her cheeks of which she's fairly proud. She likes freckles, and sod anyone who doesn't in her opinion!
Height:
5' 7” and growing by the day.
Dress Style:
Lily doesn't have a very exciting dress sense. She simply wears whatever she finds comfortable and whatever she thinks suits her. She very rarely wears anything with a pattern, preferring plain clothes that she can accessorize herself, and she can typically be found in greens or blacks. She dislikes heels and will mostly wear sneakers or trainers, and in the winter months she switches to boots. She will rarely be seen in a skirt, finding them restrictive, and as she only owns one pair of trousers other than that, she's always in jeans. She could even be called a little boring, but it suits her. Her real downfall is jewelery and belts – she has an insane amount of bangles, which clink as she walks, and lots of necklaces made from substances like hemp, the kind you often get at seaside resorts. Her favourite piece is a shark's tooth [which she refers to as her lucky charm] that her uncle Percy got her a few years ago, and she'll rarely go anywhere without her lucky charm.
Specifics:
Lily naturally gets noticed because of her shock of red hair, and hates being called another Weasley (although it's probably better than being recognised as a Potter, but only just). Apart from that, her only distinctive feature is the amount of bangles she wears, as previously stated. She really isn't a Potter in appearance, taking far much more from her maternal DNA than anything else. She has a tattoo on her lower back of a vine curling round itself, which her parents don't know about. She usually has an old school camera with her too, in case she sees a good shot out in the fields or a nice image of a ghost floating through the castle.
In Front Of Friends
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual.
Self Image:
Lily hates herself, pure and simple – or rather, she hates what she's associated with. She hates being the youngest in her family... Heck, she's one of the youngest in the entire Potter/Weasley clan, and it grinds her nerves when she's treated like a child. She hates being a Potter because everyone expects so much from her, and even if she can produce it, she feels it's beside the point. She should be judged on her own merit, not that of her parents. She hates being so tall, so unsure of her body and she even sometimes hates being a witch because it makes life just that little more complicated. She's seen normal Muggle families on the television and she reckons they have it easier.
None of this means she hasn't got any self confidence, though. She knows what she can do and she's fairly proud of her skills, in particular her spellcasting. She's a dab hand at Transfiguration and she reckons she could probably learn to become an Animagus one day, if she really tries hard enough. She has never been lacking in confidence, but she's just never satisfied with what's around her. She's yet to find something that she thinks is worth her time and effort, partly because her family has already done it all. She never used to think this way, but these days she just gets so annoyed at having assumptions made about her that she refuses to be overshadowed all her life, even if it means controversy and making her parents mad. At least she's consistent with her anger at everything.
About the only thing she really likes is that she doesn't look like her brothers, sharing the Weasley red hair, blue eyes and height that her father lacks, although this simply means she gets compared to them instead.
To the Outward Eye:
Lily aims for meek and quiet, although if she exudes this, she doesn't know. She had always been a nice, polite and fairly modest girl, always getting on with her work and always doing adequately in most subjects, rarely excelling in much, and she liked it that way. She finds keeping the spotlight off her helps her much more than trying to gain attention does. Besides, there are better ways to rebel than being loud about it. She doesn't shuffle along or anything – in fact, she walks with her head held high and her gaze focused on where she's going, which she has always found the best way to avoid talking to people. She has always done things when she's been asked to and done them well, so she's likely seen by most as fairly steady and reliable. She's the sort of girl people would expect a prefect to be like, and to most people she brings to mind a slightly more relaxed Percy. Funnily enough, she doesn't mind this – she loves her uncles.
Social Status:
Lily is... Well, she's not particularly popular herself, though her name is. Some people have tried to befriend her just to say they had, which winds her up even more than anything else. For the most part, though, she's left well enough alone. She has a few friends, and she's well known for her surname and her obvious genetic relation, but apart from that she's ignored. She just doesn't rise to the things people want her to, and so they leave her be. It's sort of like she's an acknowledged geek, if you will, without her being a typical geek, so to speak.

Patronus:
Lily's patronus is an African wild dog, a fairly social yet slightly unusual creature. It is a talented hunter, relying on endurance that is greater than their prey. They aren't aggressive amongst their groups, as Lily isn't, but there's a lot of power hidden inside that friendly, familiar looking figure. She still hasn't actually been able to produce one properly, despite her father's training, and so she isn't entirely sure what her Patronus actually is.
Boggart:
Lily's Boggart takes the form of her disappearing. Her greatest fear is being forgotten, not by the world at large but by her family and friends, to be known as just another Potter or Weasley [usually Weasley, even if it isn't her surname]. She doesn't seem to notice when she does get praised or noticed by those close to her, and as such she fears she's already being forgotten when it's not the truth.

Report:
The report her parents get back most years is that Lily is a delight to teach, polite, helpful, contributes to class, always hands her work in on time. The only criticism she gets is that she needs to do more in order to get her grades up, for which she ends up getting lectures on.
Personal Statement:
Lily likes things she's good at, so naturally she likes Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures, and they're both interesting lessons. She likes History of Magic when she's not in the actual class, as she tends to fall asleep there. She enjoys Muggle Studies, although she's heard that the lessons are generally inaccurate, which makes it less interesting. She hates Defence Against the Dark Arts, especially when her dad is teaching it, simply because of the connections to her family. She likes Herbology, if only because she likes the professor, and as for her other subjects? She couldn't care less about them.
History:
Lily was the last member of her little family to be born and finally fulfilled Ginny's desire to have a daughter, thank you very much. Ginny was probably a little narked off to be woken up with birthing pains again at around midnight, but at least it was a mercifully short and easy pregnancy. Anyway, out she came, their little redheaded bundle of joy, two years after her older brother Albus. Lily was named after her deceased grandmother and Ginny's friend Luna, and then off they went home. Nothing necessarily special happened in those first few years – Lily pretty much forgot it anything her parents tried to teach her in favour of poking her older brothers into playing dolls with her (not always her most successful endeavour). The house was as normal as such a place could be, and most of Lily's time was spent in the company of her family, be it her immediate family or that of her many relatives.
Lily was always a polite and helpful child, happy to do anything her parents or siblings asked without too many questions [although she did ask far too many questions the rest of the time], and although she never seemed to be particularly good at anything [Ginny was known to re-hoover the floors when Lily was asked to do it], she was enthusiastic in her own way and enjoyed it all. She was never particularly loud, something she started to grow out of when she got to Hogwarts, but she wasn't a shy sort of quiet. She just didn't say a whole lot to her family, preferring to read a book or some other such thing. She wasn't antisocial, just... there. She was closest to her uncle Percy, who she felt understood her better than the rest of the family, even if he was a little louder with his opinions, and he helped her start to speak up for herself a little. She was also often told she had her mother's temper, as she was quick to snap and good at holding a grudge, as the family found out when a childhood friend broke her favourite doll. Lily still doesn't talk to her.
Every year her brothers went to Hogwarts and she didn't, she whined. She did, at that point, think that magic sounded exciting and interesting, and despite seeing household spells performed every day, she still wanted to go and see the real stuff for herself. She would pester her mother into telling her what happened at Hogwarts, and when it finally came to be her turn to go, she ended up quite disappointed. It wasn't the spectacular adventure she'd always imagined it to be, but just another school, but that would be the least of her problems. The very first time she walked onto the train, her brothers having run off to be with their own friends, she heard the mutterings of a Slytherin student, saying ”Not another Weasley”. She wasn't offended, exactly, but she didn't understand what was wrong with being related to the Weasleys. Even after her name was announced during the Sorting, people still often mistook her for a Weasley and she started getting annoyed. It wasn't that hard to remember a name, and why did people have to comment anyway? It was slightly better than being recognised as a Potter, however, as she quickly found out. People she thought she could be friends with only wanted to hear stories about her father and mother, the kind that can be found in any of the books written by various wizards afterwards and that weren't really talked about at home. When she wasn't another Weasley, she was the Potter girl, and it annoyed her to no end.
Lily quickly found herself losing her temper with these people but, instead of confronting them about it, she let it simmer inside, developing a mild hate for her name and her family as she did so. She was civil and amiable with everyone, which convinced people to leave her alone [“Oh, she's the boring one. Let's go find the brothers!”] and she was able to start enjoying her lessons and her time alone. She found, however, that she was constantly being compared to other relatives – her cousins in the school, her brothers, her mother and father, one of her many uncles... It was almost impossible to get any recognition for her skills without an accompanying comment about someone from her family. Needless to say, this was extremely unsettling and not a little annoying. She was never brave enough to stand up and say that it annoyed her, though.
Lily's first even remotely interesting memory is that in her third year, during a game of truth or dare, she had her first kiss... with another girl. She found she liked it, although she never said as such to anyone else. She ended up dating the girl, although it only lasted a few weeks and they kept it fairly quiet. They split up on good terms, and Lily has had a couple of boyfriends since then, although she's not had any girlfriends. She doesn't want to be noticed anymore and that would probably attract more attention than it was worth.
Lily has spent the last few years getting through school on mostly average grades, avoiding most people without actually hiding and keeping mostly to herself. She escapes outside into the open and takes photographs [even that gets compared to Colin bloody Creevey!] to try and relax, and to try and stop herself feeling so bad about other people.

She just doesn't rise to the things people want her to, and so they leave her be. It's sort of like she's an acknowledged geek, if you will, without her being a typical geek, so to speak.
Positive Traits:
- Good conversationalist when necessary :: Lily is happy to talk to people, so long as they aren't going to argue about things with her. She just hasn't got the time for it. She is a good conversationalist though, able to interest everyone in the conversation and she makes the effort to include people, provided they've earned it first.
- Very robust :: Lily can take a hell of a lot of pressure and withstand it without breaking down. She's managed to take on the name of her family, the expectations and come out upholding the family name, even if she doesn't want to. She gets angry about it, but she doesn't crack.
- Knows how to make life comfortable :: If there's one thing Lily has learned, it's that there's no point being uncomfortable. If someone makes her life miserable, she removes them subtly from it by speaking to them less, all in a very inoffensive manner so that people don't notice she's doing it. She's good at being invisible when she wants to be.
- Very active :: She might be quiet, but that doesn't mean she sits around in her common room all day reading. Lily likes to keep active and while she isn't the star on a broomstick that both her parents were, she's not so bad at it that she can't play a few games of Quidditch with friends and family. Mostly she likes to go for walks by herself, though, her favourite place to visit being the Black Lake.
- Natural :: Lily is, for the most part, very natural. Her polite manner and her meekness aren't as put on as she likes to pretend. She isn't a loud person, even if she can get a little bit arsy when you get her angry. She dislikes make up and all those sort of things, and she embraces things such as her freckles. The only thing she has a real problem with is her height, as she is ridiculously tall for her age, already taller than her brother Albus.
- Trustworthy :: Provided you've earned it and convinced her that this is the right thing, Lily is very trustworthy. If someone tells her a secret, she'll keep it in her confidence for however long is necessary.
- Practical :: Lily doesn't like nonsense, and she's very good at keeping people in line. She's always been a very practical child, though remember this doesn't mean she's logical. Her practicality means she can understand her situation, but her emotional immaturity stops her from accepting them.
- Reliable :: At the end of the day, Lily is fairly reliable. She doesn't like to disappoint anyone except her parents, as she does want to be able to do the things she wants to do when she's older, so her work is always handed in on time. Her friends can trust her and depend on her to come through when they need it, provided she isn't narked off with them. The only person who can't rely on her is herself, especially matters of the heart, as will be explained below.
- Polite :: Lily has always been a polite child, her parents instilling manners in her from an early age and despite her dad's best attempts, she kept them all in tact. She's not nearly the extrovert her immediate family all seem to be, much more taking after people like her uncle Percy in manner, if not personality.
Negative Traits:
- Seldom friendly :: While she is a good conversationalist when she wants to be, Lily can come off as slightly standoffish and she doesn't hand out friendship. She feels it has to be earned, the trust that comes from even giving someone your name, and she lets her first impressions of people put her off others far too easily.
- Falls easily in love but passion burns out quickly :: Lily is a serial crusher. She has fallen in and out of love so many times that there's really no point in asking her who she likes. The answer will be different almost every time. It annoys her, but she can't seem to stop herself from ending up flushing in front of half the school. It's a part of why she's so standoffish with people.
- Gives up easily :: Lily is an able student, but she doesn't excel in anything because she doesn't see the point in most of it. Transfiguration, yes, she loves, but that's about the only thing she can think of that no one in her vast family has been excellent at. Everything else she gives up on quickly because, well, what's the point when it's all been done before?
- Many disappointments till she finds her ideal :: Lily tends to give up on things, as said, and she gets disappointed easily because she's always looking for something that she can say “This is my destiny” to. She firmly believes that there's something waiting for her, not something to get her noticed by the world because that's the last thing she wants. She just wants to find an achievement so her family will say “Oh wow, well done Lily!”. The problem is, when she thinks she's found her calling, she tends to get a little bit... well, fixated.
- Need to be noticed by her family and friends :: Lily is a little bit needy and needs to be told she's worth something, that she's doing something worthwhile and that she's not useless. She just wants to be appreciated and it can get on people's nerves when she's fishing for compliments.
- Short temper :: Lily has the legendary short fuse that she shares with her mother, but unlike most of her family, she doesn't start getting in people's faces about it. The point stands, however, that it doesn't take much to upset or annoy her, and that's generally a bad thing.
- Inability to take direct action :: Lily is very much a passive aggressive. She gets angry very easily but doesn't take direct action. She'd rather stew and then take her own petty little revenge that she knows other people don't notice. She's just too quiet, which makes things all that much worse. No one even realises she gets angry at all, she's that calm about everything. She dislikes face to face confrontation, for the most part, and will go to lengths to avoid it.
- Curiosity :: Lily likes to know what's going on around her and can get a bit of an arse on when she doesn't understand what's happening. She probably inherited this from her father, but it's not a good thing.
- Terrible judge of character :: Unlike her parents, Lily seems to be a terrible judge of character and ends up hanging around with people who are probably bad for her, if not bad in nature or intentionally. She seems drawn to dominant personalities and then gets upset when they try to control her. Silly girl.
Interests:
- The outdoors :: Lily just likes being outside because she can be alone, and because she thinks it's beautiful no matter what the weather.
- Music :: Music is love to Lily and it really helps her both relax and think. She listens to most styles, but prefers loud trance albums at the moment and dislikes R'n'B.
- Wildlife :: Lily thinks animals are amazing, and she loves taking pictures of them.
- Photography :: Lily has found a she has a penchant for Muggle photography and is rarely seen without her camera. She loves the smell of developing fluids.
- Transfiguration :: Lily is good at Transfiguration and, as it might help her one day learn to become an Animagus, she likes it all the more.
- Films :: Lily can't get enough of classic cinema, and she very rarely watches anything in colour any more.
- Muggles :: Lily likes the Muggle world a bit more than the magical one, and she thinks Muggleborn wizards are all the more interesting for not being brought up in their world.
- Reading about magic :: Like any good Potter, her curiosity gets the better of her constantly and she has nicked books from the restricted section of the library to learn more about all kinds of magic. She feels she has to – she wants to understand what it was her parents really went through to make them so famous.
Likes:
- Cheese :: it's cheese. She likes the taste. Enough said.
- Green :: It's her favourite colour.
- Freckles :: She thinks they're pretty, and doesn't care if people disagree.
- Wildlife :: She just likes animals.
- Photography :: Lily has found she has a bit of an eye for photography and takes as many pictures as possible, when she can. She prefers still photos, though.
- Ghosts :: They're amazing.
- History :: She firmly believes you can learn from other people's mistakes.
- Friends :: She knows it's an old show, but it's so funny!
- Harris :: Her owl is a loyal companion and she loves him to bits.
- Being alone :: She likes having time to think.
- Her friends :: Though few in number, she couldn't imagine life without her friends.
- Hogsmeade :: Lily jumps at the chance to go there whenever possible. She actually knows of a certain passageway her father mentioned to her once...
- Sports :: Be it football or Quidditch, Lily likes it all. She usually plays defence, but that doesn't mean she plays fair.
- Sugar :: Lily has a real sweet tooth, which would be her downfall if she didn't have such a good metabolism.
Dislikes:
- Cartoons :: They're pointless!
- Eggs :: They make her feel sick.
- Marmite :: It's disgusting.
- Hot weather :: Sun = headaches and sunburn when she spends more than five minutes in the sun.
- Her family [sort of] :: Lily will always claim she dislikes her family, even if she does love them too.
- Being called Weasley :: She isn't a Weasley, dammit, at least get her name right!
- Guinea pigs :: Her friend had one and it bit her. Never again.
- Oranges :: She just dislikes the smell.
- Idiocy :: Lily has no time for idiots and avoids them at all costs.
- Being in a large crowd :: Lily dislikes being surrounded by people – she feels stifled.
- Uniform :: She doesn't understand why they can't just be comfortable, plus she hates her skirt.
- Writing with a quill :: Although traditional, Lily uses a biro when she can get away with it.
- R'n'B music :: She just thinks it's a bit naff.
- Lack of sleep :: Lily has to get her eight hours a night, else she turns into a complete ogre the next day.
- Cats :: She's allergic to them.
- Busybodies :: Despite being a bit too nosy for her own good, she dislikes people sticking their nose into her business. The word hypocrite has entered her mind before, but she shakes it off fairly quickly.
