Introducing...
Name:
Acia {Ayz-ya} Lydia Raydon
Known to friends as Acey or just Ace.
Age:
21st September - 16. Virgo
Gender:
Female
Year:
5th year
Birthplace:
Richmond, London
Ethnicity:
Caucasian
Nationality:
English
Blood:
Half blood
Relatives:
Mother - Christie Raydon [née Johnston], a muggle. Born and raised in Southend, Essex, she lived a dull, simple life. When she was 18, she met her future husband in a bakers shop. They dated for three years before marrying in July. She discovered her husband magical abilities the day after their wedding, when she stumbled into the kitchen to see tea stirring itself and eggs cracking in a bowl of their own accord. Initially, she freaked out, but she eventually got over the shock. Seven months later, she had her first child - her son Rory.
Father - Jason Lee Raydon, half-blood, former Ravenclaw. His grandmother (Mother's mother) was a muggleborn, and passed her magical quality on through her family ever since. Jason was a timid child, a trait his daughter definitely posesses, and would spend most of his time quietly getting on with his business. He was, however, a loyal friend and polite to anyone he met.
Brother - Rory Christopher Raydon, 23, former Gryffindor. Rory works as a tour manager for bands. Usually, they're not very well known, but occasionally someone famous turns up on the doorstep. Rory was quite a clever student at Hogwarts but decided that magic wasn't really his thing. He and Acia are very close, and she goes to him for help very often.
Pets:
Nisa, a Maine Coon kitten. The cat has a mild manner, but is happy to play at any time. She's friendly to everyone, as well as being good companion and very loyal to her owner. She's rarely vicious, interacts well with other animals and only bites when she feels threatened. She's an intelligent kitten and isn't often fooled. She has a taste for gingerbread biscuits and coffee, and seems to be attracted to anything shiny or purple.
Wand Type:
Hawthorn, unicorn hair core. This wand is creative and natural, though inconsistant. Exceptionally good for charms (esp. love spells). In transfiguration results are unpredictable: The spell mostly affects the owner than the object. Suits well for any form of magic art or for intuitive branches of magic (Divination included). Not very good against the dark arts, and cannot be used for this purpose.
Appearance
Picture:
Hair Colour:
Dark brown
Eye Colour:
Deep blue
Build:
Slender, quite thin, not very curvy.
Skin Tone:
Quite pale, but not ghostly white.
Height:
About 5 ft.
Dress Style:
Acia dresses quite feminine, but modestly. Her favourite colours are blue and black, but she's most likely to wear blue. In the summer, she's likely to wear some sort of summer dress or shorts. She loves heels but doesn't wear them often because they hurt too much to wear daily, but she hates any clothing that shows off her stomach, because she thinks it's indecent. She doesn't like to wear anything too dark, and will normally mix any dark colours she does wear with lighter colours. She loves silver jewellery and always wears a silver bracelet. She will never wear gold because she doesn't think it suits her.
Specifics:
The most noticable thing about Acia is she's quite short for her age. At 5 ft, other people tend to tower above her, and often think she's younger than she really is. Other than that, she has a small, silver nose stud that can catch peoples' attention sometimes, and she also has a small, round birthmark on the left side of her neck.
In Front Of Friends
Sexual Orientation:
Heterosexual
Self Image:
Acia can swing from self-loving one day to self concious the next, but generally, she quite likes herself. She thinks she's a fun person to be around, but knows she's shy and quiet when she meets new people. She'd like to be taller but is quite happy with her current height as it is. If she could change her body, she'd probably make it curvier.
To the Outward Eye:
Acia's quite shy when she first meets people, she has to build up some confidence before she can talk to them. Once she's been around a group of people for a while (or had enough drinks to unknot her stomach), she'll tend to be a lot livelier and happier. She tends to dance a lot, whether there's music or not, but she'll stop if she thinks there's anyone looking. Once she's friends with a person, she tends to be very loyal and honest to them.
Social Status:
Acia's not fussy about who her friends are. She'll give everyone a chance. And a second chance, at that. It takes a lot to make her give up on someone's friendship. She's not incredibly popular, but she hates being seperated from others.
Positive Traits:
Negative Traits:
Skills:
Acia can speak a bit of French, which she picked up from her time in primary school. She also likes to think she's a good actor, even though she knows she's not very convicable sometimes.
Likes:
-Oranges, they're her favourite fruit.
-Water, in any form, rain, seas, pools etc. She finds if peaceful and calming.
-Music, almost all types. She finds it's a great method of anger release.
-Netball, Acia's few friends at the muggle primary school got her into this game, and she loves it.
-Friends, they make her feel happy and confident.
-Cats/dogs, she can't decide which she likes more. She likes dogs because of their friendly, loyal nature. She likes cats because of their dignified, sophisticated way of doing everything.
-Boys, for the same reasons as friends, only better.
Dislikes:
-Liquorice, she hates the taste.
-Bananas, The things taste and feel disgusting.
-Seafood, the smell, taste and texture of it makes her feel physically ill
-Insects, they freak her out. It's the way they move...
-Extremely frigid people, as in people that can't even stand hugs, because she tends to be quite physical (not in the agressive or sexual way) with her friends, especially when she's down, and it's harder for her to be friendly with these people.
-Confrontation, it makes her awkward and nervous.
-Lists of tasks, as listing tasks makes them seem longer, and she doesn't stick to them anyway.
Patronus:
A german shepard. The family had a pet german shepard called Pogo once, and he was one of Acia's best friends. She loved the dog, and it once saved her from drowning in their garden pond when she was small.
Boggart:
A very, very old woman, unable to move and completely alone. Yes, Acia's scared of growing old and becoming useless. She also hates the idea of being alone in life..

Report:
Acia is generally a quiet, attentive student, who listens to the instructions carefully and gets on with her work. She'll occasionally talk to those around her, but still works well. In Divination and Astronomy, she has given up on any attempt to understand the subject. tends to talk to anyone near her, which can annoy the teachers occasionally, whereas in History of Majic, she sits with a vacant, far-away expression, obviously in her own world that's much more enthralling than the lesson.
Personal Statement:
Acia enjoys DADA and Care of Magical creatures immensely, they are her favourite lessons. She also enjoys Potions, but the dingy atmosphere of the classroom makes her feel less than comfortable and makes her slightly less happy about the subject. She likes Transfiguration and charms, but finds that her spells in charms tend to blow up in her face, often quite literally. She thinks astronomy and divination are a waste of time and tends to distract herself from the lessons, and she has officially named History of Magic as her Catch Up lesson, either on sleep or other things, such as assignments, that need to be done.
History:
Christie Johnston was born in a small town in Leeds. She had three brothers, and two sisters. To earn extra money for herself, she took a job in a local shop, and worked there on wednesdays and saturdays. Every day, she'd go to the nearby bakery to buy her lunch. This was her daily routine.
Christie and Jason Raydon met in this small bakery in Leeds, when Christie accidentally knocked Jason's sausage roll flying whilst on the way to buy her own lunch. She bought him a new sausage roll and an apologetic coffee. Whilst eating, they started to talk, and Christie discovered that Jason lived in a large house in London with his family, and was in Leeds visiting his uncle for the rest of the summer. They saw each other nearly every day that summer, and on the last day, just before Jason got on the train to go home, they kissed.
Though Christie attempted to call him every day, she never managed to get through to him. She put this out of her mind once Jason had told her he went to a boarding school and they weren't allowed phones. She didn't ask any questions, whice Jason considered lucky as he wasn't very good at lying and would have probably ended up telling her about Hogwarts and scaring her away.
Three years later, Christie and Jason married. She discovered her husbands magical abilities the day after their wedding, and it took her nearly a week to overcome her shock. Seven months and 11 years later, when her son Rory got his acceptance letter from Hogwarts, she was more proud than shocked, and tried her best to equip her son for life in the world of magic, a life that she herself never had.
7 years after Rory, Acia was born. She led a happy life, supported by her family, and developed an extremely close relationship with her brother. He was the one who she went to with her problems, who calmed her down and cheered her up. He kept Acia motivated to do the best she could.
The problems started in primary school. Children are mean, and for no real reason, they chose to be mean to Acia. Thankfully for her, the girls that bullied her seemed to take a liking to her brother, and obeyed like obedient dogs when he came home from Hogwarts at winter and told them to stop. This occured before the bullying had any dangerous effects, but it already broke her self confidence. Also, in the muggle school, Acia struggled greatly. She wasn't very good at most of the subjects, except maths. The teachers eventually gave up on her and deemed her unteachable, so most of her school days were spent ignored and alone, thinking about how her brother's life at Hogwarts must be like, something she could only ever dream of.
One could only imagine Acia's face when her letter from Hogwarts arrived. She was excited for the change, freedom and the new start the school offered, and she was determined to change her life for the better from that point on.
Her first year at Hogwarts was very quiet, as she tried harder to focus in her lessons rather than being social, but she decided after that year that being a hermit wouldn't help her get along with life, and wanted to start to socialise. Truly, though, she has only started to really emerge in the last year, and hopes to make many, many more friends now.
Roleplay Sample:
Winter was Acia's favourite time of the year for several reasons. One was that the decorations, lights and central heating made homes look and feel warmer and more inviting than ever before. Another, people were always happier around Christmas time. They were more accepting, more caring, and generally more pleasant. The last reason, and the most important one in Acia's eyes, was her brother was always home for Christmas. This was always the highlight of her festive season. No amount of presents, regardless of size or worth, could possibly give her as much joy as his presence did. It was the best gift she could get.
The 11 year old stood in the cold front garden, snow falling all around her. Yes, it was one of those rare occasions in England where it actually snowed, and it was beautiful. The petite girl was wrapped from head to toe in several insulating layers, including a wellington boots, a puffy jacket and thick, black gloves. Half her face was obscured by her rainbow scarf that er mother insisted she pulled up to her nose, whilst the other half was covered by a knitted bobble-hat.
"Oh you would insist on waiting for him in this sort of weather, wouldn't you?" Her mother fussed as she parcel-wrapped her daughter up. Yes, Acia would insist on waiting for him. She did every year.
Her attention faltered for what she thought was a few seconds, but must've been longer than that, as the next thing she knew she was scooped up into someone's arms.
"Acey baby, you're getting too heavy for this." Rory laughed as he carried her into the house. She simply grinned back and threw her arms around him, burying her face in his messy, thick hair.
Inside the house, he set her down on the stairs as he took of his scarf and coat. Acia stood there, patiently sweltering in all her layers, waiting for his present to her. Every time her brother came home, he'd bring her a present from the Wizarding world, and she loved it. She loved any sort of insight she could get into the life she so badly wanted to be a part of.

- Thoughtful - Acia considers peoples' feelings and reactions carefully before she acts. She avoids hurting people as much as she possibly could, and feels incredibly guilty if she upsets anyone.
- Understanding - She tends to be a good listener, and understands people's situations and feelings, and tries to help to the best of her ability.
- Risk-taker - Just because she's quiet doesn't mean she's not up for an adventure. She's happy and up for almost anything, even if she is quiet whilst doing it!
- Trusting - In Acia's eyes, everyone acts within the best interests of the people around them. She can normally tell when people are lying, but generally she'll just trust that they're telling her the truth.
- Reliable - She may be disorganised, but Acia's still reliable. She'll be there for you if you need her, and if you have a secret she wouldn't tell anybody.
Negative Traits:
- Naive- Acia tends to assume the best of people, and is very shocked and hurt when they act negatively towards her.
- Timid- Acia's often quiet and nervous in new situations, including meeting new people, and she'll stand around taking in her surroundings before actually joining in.
- Hesitant - She tends to hesitate before sharing her opinions or ideas with people, as she sometimes worries that it's not a good idea.
- Disorganised - Acia's incredibly disorganised. She can often turn up late and flustered to lessons, having forgotten half her books and any other necessities.
- Forgetful- Possibly a factor of the above trait, Acia forgets a lot of things, like times, or messages. It can prove troublesome.
