Name:
Jessica Marie Aurora Espin (Jess to her parents and very close friends).

July 4
Gender:
Female
Year:
5th
Birthplace:
The West End, London, England
Ethnicity:
Caucasian
Nationality:
English
Blood:
Half-blood

Pets:
When you first meet Sapphire, a 10 month old Dalmatian, the greeting you will get from him is a big dog kiss that can soak your face in one lick. Most of the time, Sapphire is nestled under Jessica's bed, sleeping but will often wake up to the alarm clock if Jessica doesn't and lick her until she is woken up.
Sapphire can adapt to anyone he meets and is extremely intelligent.
He learned to play dead so she can entertain Jessica whenever she is feeling a little sad. He loves her a lot but will be very protective if anyone tries to harm her, though he shows he's happy by putting on a tongue-lolling grin.
Sapphire will eat wet dog food and will settle for dry if there is no other option. One thing you have to know when with Sapphire; he loves water. Every morning Jessica takes him out to go swimming in the lake and in winter, when its frozen, Jessica loves watching him slip around on the ice.
Wand Type:
Jessica's wand is a 9 1/2 polished dark redwood with a unicorn tail hair. Her wand is painted completely black with white striping to add some of her own desgin to it. Ever since she recieved it when she was 11, Jessica has had a lot of success with it. Like when Harry recieved his, a sudden warmth spread through her body and they were bound together. Jessica's wand is absolutely outstanding in Transfiguration and Charms but cannot, for the life of it, do anything involving the earth or fire, which makes it poor in Charms. The only charm she can do is a Summoning Charm, which she mastered to catch her dog if he tries to run away.
Appearance
Picture:
Hair Colour:
Even though Jess has a very soft nature, she loves that bright red hair dye, though her original color is a light brown.
Eye Colour:
Actually, Jessica's eyes are a dark brown but she uses contact lenses to change the color. These have a spell on them so that they will never dry her eyes out and they won't mix with her natural eye color. Her favorite pair is the bright blue ones.
Build:
Jessica is thin but doesn't have much in the name of curves...Her body is effortlessly graceful..
Skin Tone:
Pale, just not albino.
Height:
5' 6"
Dress Style:
Jessica is a sole thrift shopper. If she finds something that's cute, she will wear it, paying no attention to the brand. Her mother would go on elaborate shopping sprees and offer to take her to very hight fashion stores, but Jessica would always be in the least-expensive ones. The only reason for this is the fact that Jessica doesn't want to become a snob like most rich girls and glory in expensive fashions. Normally she wears things that blend in, like grays and brows. Jessica never had an attraction to bright colors, so she stayed pretty mellow, but every so often she would wear a red or purple.
Normally she wears slightly baggy pants with a body conforming top and a pair of skate shoes. Cool and comfortable is all her style.
Specifics:
The very first thing people notice is the color of her eyes, which change from day to day. Her favorite pair of contacts is the bright ice blue ones which often catch people of guard if they are looking directly into her eye. The second is her hair. This one they notice because the bright red contrasts with her soft personality.
Jessica's skin has a natural, pale glow that Jessica doesn't even have to try to achieve. It glows especially in the moonlight because she tries to keep it healthy.
In Front Of Friends
Sexual Orientation:
Straight. In a relationship. (Sorry guys!)
Self Image:
Jessica considers herself to be something sort of a tomboy and most say "she's one of the boys." Often she will sit against the wall of the entrance hall with a book, wishing she could just melt into the wall. Of course she doesn't think that she's ugly, most certainly not, but she does believe that she is never good enough. Her mother is always on her, expecting her to be what she was at Hogwarts, the Wizarding version of a valedictorian, she just didn't give the grad speech. This makes her feel that she has to live up to something. In spite of herself, Jessica will find herself wishing that she is one of the popular girls, just so she can feel a normal life.
Jessica hides behind the small things. The fact that she can draw and her mother can't, the fact that she is photogenic and she isn't.
To the Outward Eye:
Jessica appears, to most, a hard -working and school loving individual. One who never falters and always stays top of her game. In truth, this is what she is. She will always be up at night, studying for hours on end for an exam because that's what her mother did...
In a normal high-school-to-middle-school setting, Jessica would be known as the "bookworm/nerd/know-it-all." The one always with a book, the one always in the common room doing homework. Jessica loves working because it keeps her busy. This is only because she has few friends. Most of the time Jessica is considered "one of the boys" because she can go five minutes without putting on makeup or looking into every reflective surface.
Social Status:
Jessica is the person everyone avoids. Most of the time people will see her and put about 7 feet of distance between them and Jessica. To her, friends are something that are a bit of a distraction. Jessica would much rather be very close to one person than have a lot of not so close friends.
Positive Traits:
Negative Traits:
Skills:
Jessica is the best artist in her family. In fact, this is one of the things that Jessica is proud of because she can do it better than her mom and is a full--on--gymnast, something that she has been doing since she was four. She is a piano player and a singer but these are all things her mother can do, so Jessica pays no attention to them. Most of her songs are handwritten though, lyrics and notes.

Patronus:
Jessica's Patronus would be a cat. Cats are the most independent household animals and that's exactly what Jessica is. She is very quiet and often comes out when you least expect it, like cats do. (Though she really isn't a household animal!)
Boggart:
Jessica's worst fear would be anything dreadful happening to her brother. She loves Russell with every piece of her heart and seeing anything happen to him would probably make it very hard for her to live.

Report:
The one thing that they say all the time is the fact that Jessica loves all of her courses. She turns in all her assignments on time and has a very bright mind. The only place where Jessica slips is Astronomy. Even though her grade is fairly high in that class, it appears she doesn't like the course. The Transfiguration teacher loves her work ethic because her wand was pretty much made for that type of spellwork.
Personal Statement:
The only class Jessica hates is Astronomy only because she's never had any interest in the stars or anything like that. Potions is a breeze for her because she had inherited her mother's strong prowess in the subject and even thought of opening a Potions tutoring club. She loves this fact and feels that she,for once, made her mother proud by excelling in it. She also loves Transfiguration and Charms, the two easiest subjects, except for the fact she hates how much homework she gets in Transfiguration. Often her hand is first in the air to answer a question in DADA because she began to read it when she got the book and she knew a little bit about the Dark Arts
History:
(A lot of the history focuses on Jessica’s family instead of her life itself but it’s mostly from her perspective).
In as small house on the West End of London, England, Jessica Marie Aurora Espin was born to Allyson and Charley Espin on July 4th and to Allyson, this was the happiest day of her life. Charley looked at Jessica with a warm smile but really didn’t care much much for her. The first three years of Jessica’s life were uneventful but when she was four, Allyson pushed Jessica into gymnastics and she latched onto it immediately. When she was six, she could do a near-perfect handstand and small tumbling moves. As the talent in this progressed, Allyson hired their friend Ramona to teach her singing and piano, talents that she possessed and felt would be necessary for life. Charley was a high school math teacher and a science class substitute so he taught Jessica basic math and science skills. Even though he had a Muglle job, Charley also had a job at the Ministry of Magic as the head of the Magical Accidents and Catastrophes department so he was away from home a lot and normally wasn't home until late that night. Allyson worked as one of London's best potion-makers and owned a small apothecary in Diagon Alley. Because Jessica was left alone in the house a lot of the time, often she would wander through the house. The house was very, very large and easy to get lost in but she found her way still and on one of her wanderings, she came across a library. There she began to curl up by the fire and read until her parent's got home.
Allyson had found her in this library, reading and that’s when she decided to tell Jessica about her Hogwarts days, how she was the favorite for all of her teachers, how she was the pride and joy of her parents, how she graduated with very top scores in every class, on every test. She looked upon Jessica as if for her to be happy, that’s when Jessica thought that she has something to live up to. From then on, she worked as hard as she could with no magic training. She began to read her father’s old textbooks and used those instead of buying new ones. By candlelight at night, Jessica would sit in the library and read the textbooks until she had passages memorized. While reading the Defense book, though, it mentioned a bit about the Dark Arts and Jessica developed an interest in them. When she wasn't studying, she was reading the large book her father had kept on the Dark Arts, which she found very, very interesting when read in full detail.
As Jessica's life progressed, she was taught Italian because her mother was born in Italy and it's her main language. Jessica became more successful gymnast and by the time she got her Hogwarts letter, was competing in regional competitions. When she came to Hogwarts, she worked furiously, even at such a young age. Teachers took a liking to her but she received weekly letters from Allyson, asking about work and telling her to work harder.
When Jessica was 13, she met a boy named Russell at Hogwarts who, oddly enough, had her last name. They were friends from the moment they met, but, at the start of her 4th year, they fell in love. It turned out to be that the two were siblings but had no idea. Apparently Jessica's parents had never told her she had a brother. Charley had practically prayed for another son, but when they had Jessica, he was very disappointed so he shunned Jessica from him. He believed that Russell was above her, even though they were exactly the same blood status; that's why Jessica had felt a sense of recognition when they met. Allyson and Charley found out and tried to tear them apart. Their attempts proved useless when he started standing up for her and saying that they were to deeply in love to break apart. They gave in, but kept close watch on them, which resulted in much deceit when the began to see each other in the Forbidden Forest. They forbade contact during the holidays but they would always send letters back and forth at night when their parents were both asleep.

(OoC: I know this is a tad bit sappy but it’s the best I could come up with at 5:00 in the morning on a school night!)
Dear Jessica,
Things are okay here. The sun rises and falls as it should but incomplete without you. It kills me that our own parents have no love for the fact that their own children are in love, even if it is with, well, a member of the family. I hate it and I can’t stand to be away from you anymore. I have tried many times to convince them to let me go back, but Allyson is bent on seeing us separately. I love you too much for this. Christmas was good, but the only thing I wanted was you and that’s one courtesy they couldn’t give me.
Love You Lots,
Russell
Jessica sent the owl hovering at her window away, her tears falling with a soft dripping noise on the blankets. It never ceased to amaze her that there was someone out there that cared as much for her as Russell did. Grabbing a piece of parchment and a dark peacock feather quill, she scribbled a hasty response. She and Russell weren’t supposed to be in contact at all during the Christmas holidays, but the break in contact was too much for her already fragile heart to take. In the chicken scratch Jessica knew only he knew, she began to write, splotches of tears landing on the parchment, distorting the ink slightly.
Russell,
I know we shouldn’t be talking and I’m surprised that Allyson isn’t intercepting the mail, but I can’t stand not talking to you. Everyday we spend apart is like physical wound. I agree. All I wanted was you and instead I got fudge, funny as it may sound. You are everything I wanted and I never see you anymore.
Never Enough Love,
Jessica
As she sent this out with the same owl, Jessica curled onto her bed and put a well placed Silencing Charm on the curtains so no one would hear her sobs. No one at the school knew that she was madly in love with her brother; they only knew that they were very best friends and that’s only what Jessica wanted them to think. People would jump to conclusions if they knew what really went on…
Unlike every other night since Russell left, Jessica did not sob herself to sleep. Instead she lay back, the moonlight falling onto her bed, her tears sparkling like silver in the soft light. Even she couldn't quite say why she missed him so much, why it was so hard to be away from him. To her, she would rather be tortured to insanity than lose him. When she closed her eyes, instead of feeling the warmth that came before sleep, she felt the feeling of the last kiss; soft, warm and passionate.
Saying goodbye had been the hardest part for Jessica...

Other Characters:
For now Jessica is my only character. I will create Russell after I am sure I can take care of Jessica. (This'll probably be a week or so).
How you found Hex:
I was on another RP site called Time Turners (timeturnersx.proboards104.com/), browsing the "Advertise/Affiliate" forum when the thread title "Salvio Hexia" caught my eye. I read the plot on the thread and I decided to take a look at it. And that's how I came to be at the site.

Positive Traits:
- Loyal: Jessica can stay close to and be there for anyone she loves, like her brother Russell.
- Forgiving: Jessica forgives, but it will take a while for her to let it go if it was something that greatly angered her.
- Funny: Jessica has a very subtle sense of humor that she has a tendency to pop in at the least expected moments.
- Lovable: Jessica may be shy, but when you get to know her, she is probably the most lovable thing anyone's ever met.
- Loving: In comparison to being lovable, she is also very love-ing! She can show immense passion and love to anyone that feels the same. (The only one she's ever felt this way about is her brother).
- Optimistic: Even with all the pressure of living up to her mother, Jessica tries to see the glass half full and portray the message, "really, I'm okay."
- Quick ThinkerJessica's mind can work vary fast. In a split second she can come up with a joke that can make a whole group of people roll on the floor laughing.
- Uplifting: If Jessica can't be happy, why not make other people happy? Jessica brings an aura of happiness into any room she walks into.
- Calm and Controlled: Jessica can stay cool even in the worst situations. One time, Jessica and Sapphire were out on the lake, which was iced over. Well, Sapphire had gained a few pounds and crashed right through the ice. Jessica didn't panic, she just performed a Summoning Charm. (The only charm she actually can do).
- Tree Hugger: Tree hugging dirt worshiper. Jessica has an immense care for the environment and all animals, ugly or cute. Jessica may not be politically aware, but she is very aware of what is going on with the environment and she wants to do what ever she can to save it.
Negative Traits:
- Soft Spoken: Jessica often hides, so that when she speaks, most people's reaction is "there's someone there?"
- Ignorant: Jessica does hear things but if its something she doesn't like, she will deliberately pay no attention to it.
- Reserved: Jessica keeps almost everything to herself. No one except Russell knows anything about her.
- Intimidating; Jessica towers over a lot of people though most are actually intimidated by her intelligence, the sheer fact that she could do what they do better.
- Slightly Mousy: Jessica is very shy around people she barely knows and for her it takes a little time for her to warm up to people.
- Nosy: Jessica has a tendency to put her nose into things where she doesn't belong.
- Bad Tempered: It takes some work to get her on her bad side, but when you do, its not pretty at all. First of all, there will be mumbling and then she explodes into tears or a short fit of rage that stays with her until the next day. Most of the time, if you did it bad enough, she will try to sneak up behind you. Jessica knows this curse that makes it impossible to talk for at least three hours and by the time they're able to talk, they won't remember who put the curse on them, so she never gets caught.
- Sleep Talking: Jessica is definitely a sleep talker. Often she will moan things like "No take me" or "Please, leave him alone!" And more often she will say "I love you."(Really its a genetic thing; her dad does it too!)
- Forgetful: Jessica tends to forget things, but when she realizes she has, she just laughs it off. In truth, this isn't a horrible trait.
Likes:
- Reading: This is one of the things that let Jessica escape from the pain surrounding her world and into an almost painless world.
- Gymnastics: It gives Jessica great joy to be able to flip through the air like she does and be so flexible.
- Drawing: It's the only way (besides writing) that she can express her feelings in a way the whole world can understand. (At least partially, anyway).
- Writing: This is another way Jessica expresses feelings, she just keeps her writings more private and there are only a few people (Russell) that actually knows what's behind them.
- Sapphire: Jessica's dalmatian Sapphire is her best fried and also an ex-anxiety attack dog, so he is very good at calming her when she is upset.
- Studying: This is something not many like and often Jessica is made fun of because she likes this. In truth, she is very often called a nerd just because she wants to do well.
- Flying: What can she say? Nothing can compare to the feeling of the wind and the rush as your lifted of the ground. Just the feelings Jessica loves, because, once again, this is something her mother can't do.
- Skateboarding: This is kind of one of the things that named Jessica one of the boys. Even she doesn't know where the skill comes from, but the way she moves on it makes it look like she's basically flying.
Dislikes:
- Rats: There's just something about them that she hates. Pet rats Jessica is fine with but sewer rats are just disgusting. Slimy, dirty, infected. They just make her shiver.
- Politics: For some reason, Jessica just wasn't very politically aware. She never paid attention in Muggle London or in the Wizarding world. She thinks its just another excuse to start a war.
- Fatty Foods: Not that she wants to be skinny or anything, but eating fatty foods makes Jessica feels fat and often gives her a pot-belly.
- Overachievers: To her they are people who just set themselves up for disappointment because if you shoot that high, then your just as less likely to achieve it.
- Spiders: Jessica just hates the idea that you can actually die from getting bitten by one tiny, eight legged insect. And besides, they're just creepy lookin'.
- Lightning: Even though there's a one in ten thousand chance that she would get struck by lightning, Jessica hates the idea that its even possible.
- Large Crowds: Even though Jessica doesn't mind it, she still hates them. All the talking and laughing distracts her from her work.
- Mold: For some odd reason, Jessica has a strange fear of mold. It happened when she came to the fridge one time to take out a piece of cheese that was covered in green stuff. Jessica ate the cheese and got terribly sick. Now she just despises the stuff because it almost killed her.

Out of Character
Name:
Alexi
Age:
13 or 14
Name of Playby:
Hayley Williams (I'll keep the same playby but I might change the signature a couple of times.)
