20th July, 2004 in Adelaide, Australia. Cancer.
Height:
6’1”
Build:
Lean, on the verge of muscular.
Wand:
Apple with Dragon heartstring, 14 inches.
Strict and definite, sometimes inflexible, but not rigid. Usually provides steady and dependable results, suits best for Transfiguration and for all practices where well-directed effort is required. Not very good for light and easy charms. Does rather well in magic combat, but is not very good for dark arts and destructive workings.
Patronus:
Edward’s patronus is a Brumby Stallion. With them it’s all mares, mares, mares. Territorial and full of testosterone, the stallion represents Ed perfectly.
His first ever kiss with Cassandra Vimes in school.
Boggart:
A giant mad bull with red eyes that snorts steam. As a kid Edward had a run in with the neighbouring farm’s bull (he shouldn’t have been teasing it but still) and now absolutely fears going near them.
Dementor:
His father telling him he’s not good enough, that he’s a disappointment.
Amortentia:
Horse sweat and hay, cold beer, Cassie’s perfume.
Nickname(s):
Ed, Eddy, Gene, Johnsy.
Clothing Style:
Edward’s everyday style is very casual and comfortable but he likes to wear clothes that make him look tough and pretty much badass. He favours jeans, they’re like God’s gift, jeans are seriously the best pants ever created and he’s rarely seen without a pair on. He also very much loves simple, dark coloured tops and the flannelette shirts and can be generally seen layering them on top of each other against the cold.
Now, as well as the amulet that hangs around his neck, he also wears a crucifix on a silver chain. It was given to him by none other than Silas Rosier and helped Ed in the defeat and forcible removal of Dacian the vampire.
[/ul] the inner workings
Women, because well they’re just plain awesome and a lot of fun in his spare time.
Rowdy, without that dog Edward would be lost.
TV, it’s useful and entertaining at the same time.
Food, to Edward food is love.
Jeans, like food, they are also love.
Flannelette shirts, they’re comfy and look hot.
Knick Knacks, anything that Edward thinks looks cool but creepy he collects.
Working with Rowdy by his side, it keeps his mind off things and the puppy keeps him entertained when business is slow.
Muggle Alcohol, there’s nothing like downing some shots of whiskey or bourbon after a long day.
Playing cards, it’s fun and a good way to get money, even though he’s not good at it.
Anything Aussie, it is where he grew up after all and anything that reminds Ed of home is awesome, especially if it’s an Aussie girl.
Australia, Ed is fiercely loyal to his homeland and anyone caught dissing it will receive a few harsh words from him and maybe even a broken jaw.
The Colour Blue, it is seriously the best colour ever, all shades of it rock.
Travelling, there’s a big bold world out there and Edward loves exploring it.
Cassie Vimes, after all the time apart and all the fast girls, Ed still harbors feelings for his first and only love.
Dislikes:
Marmite, because it’s an imitation of the good old Aussie icon ‘Vegemite.’
Cats, Ed’s more of a dog person, plus their eyes creep him out.
Thieves, only he can steal off people, no one else.
Cross Dressers and Girly Guys, come on if you’re a guy you should look like one, it’s so confusing and awkward when you find out the hard way.
Owls, send a letter the normal way people! It may be slower but it’s less noisy and messy, though he will use them if the need is dire.
His Dad, He don’t like Edward and Edward don’t like him (see history).
Cattle, after spending most of his life looking after them Ed would be happy if he never saw another cow in his life.
People Touching His Stuff, what’s Ed’s is Ed’s, no one else’s.
People Paying Out Australia, see ‘Likes’
The Cold, sometimes he wishes he was back home where it’s dry and hot instead of in England where the sun hardly ever shines and it rains way too much.
Staying in One Place for Too Long, Edward gets itchy feet a lot and feels the need to pack up and move on after staying in one place for awhile, though Hogsmeade may be different.
Bugs, they’re icky and gross with their creepy and crawliness.
Silas Rosier, the son of a bitch makes Ed's life miserable whenever possible. No matter what Ed does to combat it the sleasy excuse for a man always comes back at him twice as hard.
Dacian, ungrateful, pathetic, malicious, humourless, spiteful, crazy, cowardly, sonofabitch of a vampire.
Quirks and Habits:
- Ice chewer.
- Taps and hums when nervous.
- Has a habit of tapping his nose every now and then when he’s
- thinking.
- Whenever he has a pencil in his hand he has to draw.
- Always puts his car and house keys in his left trouser pocket.
- Sleeps on his front.
- Shakes more than others when cold.
- Bites his lip when looking at something or thinking what to say.
- Chews his nails.
- Has a habit of hording things and hiding them away, especially money.
Mirror of Erised:
He and Cassie living happily with their on the way child.
In Depth Personality:
- Ambitious, motivated – when Edward wants something, he’s gonna get it eventually, no matter what he has to do to get whatever he’s after.
- Change; accepts it, embraces it – Change is inevitable and will happen eventually no matter how much you put it off, Edward simply chooses to let it happen and goes where ever it takes him.
- Kind – Although he won’t admit it, Edward does have a kind and caring side. If someone needs help desperately with anything, most of the time he won’t refuse to help them.
- Open-minded, Tolerant – It doesn’t matter who or what you are, whether you’re gay or straight as long as you drink and give good tips.
- Reliable – If he’s wanted somewhere at a certain time he’ll be there. If you have a secret to drunkenly confess, Ed’s the best guy to do it to. He;s heard many things confessed and has kept all of them to himself though he does tell Rowdy but he tells Rowdy everything.
- Responsible, most of the time – Holding a job, looking after a bouncy, growing puppy and just living his life requires it but when a pretty girl walks into his sight most of Ed’s responsible-ness is lost.
- HIGH Self-Esteem – Edward loves himself, see negative traits.
- Protective – If Ed loves something or someone enough he would die for them and would do whatever it would take to keep it or them safe.
- Cocky Bastard – Edward loves himself and he lets others know how awesome he is and how he looks.
- Rebel without a cause – Authority and Edward don’t get along. He lives to defy law enforcement and was well known to his local police as a youngster.
- A sucker for a pretty girl – Pretty girls are the best things ever. When he spots one he wants he’ll forget what he was doing before her and spend his free time trying to seduce her.
- Unforgiving – Once you’ve crossed Edward you’ll have to work hard for his forgiveness and it’s bloody hard to get. He doesn’t do the whole ‘forgive and forget’ thing.
- Immature – He loves to be a brat when he can. Edward is a joker and a prankster and most of the time they’re very crude. He loves to make people the butt of his jokes and they normally don’t appreciate it very much.
Self Image:
To say Ed’s pretty happy with himself is an understatement. He doesn’t think there’s anything that should be changed, he’s perfect the way he is. He’s good looking, is funny, smart and has an awesome job, there’s nothing that he thinks needs to be changed, though others would disagree.
To the Outward Eye:
To the outward eye Edward is very broody and standoffish. When he first meets someone he goes quiet, sussing the other out to decide whether they’re worth his time, a potential lover, friend, enemy or just someone to beat the crap out of. Once that stage has been gotten past he’s very loud, brash and his witty sense of humour comes out to play.
Edward also acts very muggle. He often ignores his wand in favour if another weapon in fights and has a shotgun he uses to chase out the drunks. He dresses like a muggle, owns and drives a car, choosing to never use a broom in his life, and other wizards often jump to the conclusion that he’s a squib, which he isn’t.
Social Status:
Fairly popular with the barflies and locals of Hogsmeade, at least that’s what he likes to think. Edward reckons he has a fair few friends but none of them are close, they’re more acquaintances. His dark sense of humour is what can either bring someone closer or drive them away because most of the time the joke is about the person in front of him, except if they’re a lady, then a whole different side comes out.
He’s fairly picky with who he hangs around with outside of work -- Rowdy -- and likes to think he’s better than the drunks that inhabit the bar. On the rare occasion that a Hogwarts staff member comes into the bar he makes sure to treat them with great respect, Edward is cruising to make friends with one of the teachers so he can get at the school. All those teenage girls, seriously he is that low.
Skills:
Edward has picked up a few different languages from working in various bars. He can speak a little Japanese, Spanish, Gaelic, French, German and Cornish. Mainly the phrases he knows are ‘What do you want to drink?’, ‘Refill?’, ‘Money please’ and ‘Get out of my bar.’
He’s good with his hands. Although rough, his hands have a gentle touch and he can do all sorts of things with them in the bedroom. Apart from that important aspect Edward’s hands are good for carving things, cleaning and dealing cards.
Ed is also a gifted liar and manipulator. He uses said gifts to scam money off of people in card games and on the women he meets.
A relatively secret and large skill of Edward's is that he is a fantastic cook. His aforementioned love of food of all kinds has contributed to the development of his cooking skills. Once in the kitchen he will cook up a storm, there is hardly anything Ed can't cook and he loves doing it.

A black Labardor puppy called Rowdy. He is about 9 weeks old and the most awesome thing in Ed’s life right now. The man never goes anywhere without the little bundle of a dog and spoils it something shocking. Rowdy is extremely boisterous, like all puppies, and is also very friendly to everyone he meets. To him Edward is the alpha dog and mum all rolled into one and will grow up extremely loyal to the man. Right now all the time is play time unless it’s dinner time and everyone’s a friend.
Is currently all over Vivian Nazarova because she's sad and Rowdy feels it's his God-given gift to cheer her up.
Pensieve:
Edward was the first child born to muggles Sam and Mary Johns. He was born a happy and healthy boy and his parents often used to comment on what a cheeky baby he was. His parents were cattle farmers on a large property east of Adelaide, South Australia so Edward grew up learning the ways of looking after livestock. Living on a farm meant that he was always around animals and from an early age he learnt how to ride horses, work with dogs and cattle, and not to go near the shed cats.
Just before Edward’s second birthday his little brother Bobby was welcomed into the world. At first he was delighted to have a younger sibling, it was someone that would look up to him, someone to bully out of things, someone to blame things on and someone to play with. After awhile though Ed began to grow bitter towards Bobby because he got all the attention now instead of him. That bitterness grew into full fledged sibling rivalry as the two boys grew older. The two would constantly bicker and fight over nothing and competed for their parents’ love and attention.
One of Edward’s scariest childhood memories was of being chased by a bull and showing his first sign of magical ability, all at once. The two brothers had been involved in a silly game of dares at school. Bobby had dared Ed to walk the paddock of the next door neighbours’ dangerous bull and Ed, not wanting to look like a coward, accepted. Whilst doing it, Edward began to show off by teasing the bull and the bull responded by chasing him, somehow Edward managed to appear at the barbed wire fence way before the bull. He was forced to jump it and carved a nice scar in his left shin. He blamed Bobby for the incident and has never forgiven him for it even though it was himself that was at fault.
Edward didn’t have this problem when his youngest sibling, sister Ellen, was added to the family. He was too busy trying to be bigger and better than Matt to really notice she was even there. The only thing about Ellen was that she would constantly follow the two boys around; even though they never invited her into their games she still adored her two older brothers.
When Edward was 13 -- Aussie schools are different -- he got a letter stating that he was to go to a wizarding school. At first he thought it was a joke and that feeling didn’t wear off until he walked through the doors of the school on his first day. At school he was a lazy student, more interested in girls than brewing potions or learning Transfiguration. His teachers commented on his natural talent and also how disappointed they were that it was wasted on someone like Ed. If he’d tried at school, Edward could of become so much more than he is today.
It was at the school he met Cassie Vimes. At first it was pure dislike between both of them. They would fight and fight and fight all the time. Although almost constantly at each other they still spent a lot of time together. Soon the dislike became intense passion towards each other. Consequently they started dating not long into they're third year. It was with Cassie Ed fell in love for the first and only time thus far.
Not a day goes by that he does not think of Cassie.
During his last school year Edward had a falling out with his family, mainly with his dad. His dad was disappointed that his son showed no interest in the family business and was failing school and Edward didn’t want to hear it. Promptly after the fight Edward dropped out of the wizarding school and moved out of home. He spent the next few years travelling the world, working all sorts of different jobs and living in all sorts of different places. He eventually made his way to England and then onto the village of Hogsmeade where he soon settled in. When it was advertised that a job was available at one of the local pubs he jumped at the chance, lying about his age to get it.
The first person he ever met in the village of Hogsmeade was Silas Rosier. At first he thought they'd get along well, they both liked booze and woman. Ed was wrong, their personalities clashed and from almost that first instant the pair have been bickering and squabbling like an old married couple. The older man has only done one thing remotely nice for Ed, he sent him a crucifix to help out with the pub owner's vampire problem. Ed is Silas' and Silas' alone to torture.
It was while he was working one night when he came across Rowdy. Instantly Edward knew he had to have the puppy, it was love at first sight. Luckily the man holding Rowdy was desperate to get rid of it and gladly handed it over to Ed, after a large sum of money had been paid of course. The two have never been separated since.
While working late night, Edward's world exploded. A girl, Vivian, had been murdered but not murdered. At the insistance of Adrian Connery the girl and her sire, Dacian, were to be housed in the Hog's Head basement (Dacian's choice). At first Ed was fine with the vampires staying until Dacian began to systematically wear him down. Although raised to grin and bear things, even Ed had his limit and Dacian crossed it by miles. The man snapped and used the crucifix to painfully drive the male vampire out of his pub. Unfortunately that pushed him to Cassie who had arrived in town recently and whom Ed hasn't spoken to since and has subsequently jumped to the conclusion that she would rather be with a dead man. To say Ed was gutted is an understatment.

Finally the last of the usual barflies had crawled away. Edward surveyed the tavern from behind the bar. Broken glass and overturned tables and chairs littered the floor. It wasn’t uncommon to get drunken brawls but last night had been one of the worst the barkeep had ever seen. A particularly drunk vampire had picked a fight with a drunk wizard by attempting to drink his blood. Of course the wizard hadn’t appreciated the vamp’s gesture and the fight erupted from there. Edward had spent the entire fight ducking for cover from various badly aimed spells while also trying to wrestle the vampire out of the bar.
Finally he’d gotten the vampire and wizard to continue their brawl outside and he was pretty sure they were both still out there, collapsed unconscious in the gutter. They were outside his pub so they weren’t his problem anymore. He absentmindedly scrubbed some glasses, wondering when he could duck out for a nap. Glancing at the glass in his hand he realised he’d been using a dirty rag but shrugged it off. The patrons of the Hog’s Head were either too drunk or too hung-over to care whether their glass was dirty. As long as it has alcohol in it, it was fine.
Edward snorted in surprise as none other than Silas Rosier the local strip joint owner, stumbled through the front door. It was unusual to see him in the Hog’s Head, the man usually stuck to his own liquor in his own place.
“Rough night, eh?” the other man asked.
“That’s an understatement,” Ed answered, disgruntled. To say Silas Rosier annoyed him was a complete understatement. The older man was his main rival to whatever pretty woman came to town, what wasn’t to dislike about that?
"Any way, what can I getcha mate?" he grumled. On the bar a small black bundle snored loudly then began to stir at the sound of a new voice. With an excited yap, Rowdy lifted himself up and began to snuffle through Silas' pockets for a treat.
