Lily,
I know you don't like me much, but your brother does (the eldest one that is). I don't want you to have something against me for some stupid reason or another.
So I guess, before anything happens, I want you to be okay with it. Angry Potters aren't something I want on my hands.
Amelia.

Amelia,
Asking my permission? Or do you just want me to keep quiet if I'm not happy about it?
...That sounded harsh, I'm sorry. To be honest, it's not that I don't like you. It's that I don't know anything about you except for your reputation, which isn't exactly stellar.
And do I really want to know what you might be planning on doing, or is this a case of I'm better off not knowing?
Lily.

Lily,
I'm asking your permission. I don't want to make other people suffer if I don't have to.
My 'reputation' is far from who I am. I have Starke bloody Diggory to thank for that one. It's all bloody dares and rumours. Most of which aren't true. The only ones that are remotely, surround yorur brother.
I like him, and I'm not planning anything, but I'd just rather not feel uncomfortable because somebody he cares about doesn't like me/has something against us.
I know we never got off to teh best of starts. But I'm willing to start again if you are.
Amelia.

Amelia,
I feel honoured. I'm sure this is supposed to be the other way around (me and James, not me and you... ack, you know what I mean, I hope).
Why is that idiot friends with him? James with Starke, I mean. It's reassuring to know that but I can't say I'm immediately going to believe you. Sorry. I know that's harsh but...
I'm willing to start again. For James. *scratched out so that it's illegible --> * Besides he'd hate me if I didn't, bloody git...
Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Lily, and you are?

Lily, Maybe it should, but can you really see him doing it? So I thought I would.
I'm a Amelia, nice to meet you, Lily.

Nice to meet you Amelia, what brings you to Hogwarts?
I actually meant a boyfriend asking James permission to date me, but never mind. I doubt that will happen anyway. You have a point. It's very... brave of you to do this. Have you asked Albus too? Or am I the only awkward one in the family?

Oddly, my education, Which I'm guessing is the same for you.
Anybody ask James? They'd be insane, main becasue he's twice the height of any of your year! I will be getting in touch with Albus too, but I very rarely speak to him, so I dunno if the guy has a probably with me. You on the other hand , are slightly more vocal about it.
I mean this with all the best intentions of course.

I'm only here for the gossip, I'm afraid.
Albus is... a strange one. And no offence was taken. I, uh... get defensive over my brother? I don't know why.

Well it is a mill for the stuff, so you're in the right place!
No offence Lily, but he really doesn't need protecting. I'm not about to chew him up emotionally either. If anything, he'd going to be the one driving me insane.

Oh? Has something else happened or is it all the same old, same old?
That's beside the point though, isn't it? It's not like I can just turn it off immediately. I would love to, but I can't. Just... don't get him onto a subject he really likes and you're sorted. Or hit him over the head. Or threaten to put make up on him again. That one usually works quite well.
