Giving up on his poor, poor beanie Scott let it go and tumbled out of the way of the Thestral. It was obviously set on finding something but why his favourite hat? That hat had done nothing to the horse thing and now it had been ruined with Thestral slobber. His favourite God damn beanie, the one from some surf and ski shop in Croatia, ruined. Life definitely wasn’t fair but maybe it was throwing him something a bad thing to make up for the epic amount of good he’d felt lately? Scott supposed though that if he had to choose between the beanie and Vivian he’d definitely be choosing her.
What was going on between the two of them? Hell if he knew but so far it had been good. Even after discovering her back from the dead he’d still been too much of a coward to ask her out but it had strengthened his feelings for her.
Distracted momentarily from the chaos being caused by the Thestral in front of him, Scott positively jumped out of his skin. With a small cry he shielded himself from the flurries of snow being kicked up by the... Hippogryff? At the sight of the great creature the boy went silent from awe. He’d heard rumours that the school had purchased one but never thought they’d go through with it. They were unpredictable beasts at best, very temperamental but so awesome to look at. The one that had landed in the snow was a fine example of one, Scott knew because a friend of his family bred them and every time he came around he always went on and on about their conformation and colouring.
With his heart in his mouth Scotty looked Flytail in the eye and bowed, Tenebrus forgotten for the moment.

Flytail was a little dizzy from her fall, flailing around slightly before then standing back to attention and letting out a loud squark with a snap of her beak to tell Tene off. Hah, who was he to tell her off?! Watching him search for his precious, but wrecked, hot dog for a moment, she went a bit blank in the head, then blinked and realised that the school kid was still there. Jumping with surprize in her mind, she stumbled, then came back to her feet.
At just the right time to see Scotty bow, she waited for a moment or two. Then finally, her back knees and left front buckled down to the snow, the other front one grasping the ground with a click of talons. In a polite bow, she stood back up slowly, tilted her head to look at the student, then brought her attention to Tenebrus. Feeling a little mean, Flytail's crest settled down against her broad yet sharp face and she quietly produced a small nickering sound to try and half-heartedly apologize to the male thestral.
Flapping her wings, she examined each of them to find only five or so feathers out of place. Preening herself for a moment, the hippogriff nibbled at her chest feathers and then the tops of her wide wings. Once satisfied with her appearence, she shovelled bits of snow with her jagged beak to try and help find the damned hotdog.
