Jeona grinned. She'd heard about the couple. She never knew a gay couple. Back home in Pagan Hollow they were still weird about that sort of thing. Some people were okay with it and others were ramble on about how it wasn't right. Jeona had no problem with it. She As long as people were happy, more power to them. Who was she to judge about lifestyles anyway? At this point she was hiding a huge part of who she was from the world, including her family.
Kris was sweet. She would never forgive herself if anything happened to him that she could have prevented. Or didn't get to the bottom of. He might need help. Him or everyone currently inside the candy shoppe.
"Oh! You're still shopping then. For candy? Can I tag along a bit? I mean, assuming you have no other plans. I mean, if it's not too weird having me following." She ought to be proud she was possibly putting herself in harm's way for him. But would could she really do if something were about to attack?

"Oh! You're still shopping then. For candy? Can I tag along a bit? I mean, assuming you have no other plans. I mean, if it's not too weird having me following."
Kristian looked at her for a moment, assuming that she still didn’t feel too well. What other reason could there be for her to want to hang out with him? Surely she had her friends who were waiting for her to return, or other people that were far more interesting to spend time with. He wondered whether or not he should change his plans, make their time into something a little more special and less boring for the Fifth Year girl. She did seem fine at the moment, but he didn’t want to take her into a crowded place and risk losing her from his sight.
”Uhm, sure, yeah, you can come with. No problem. I haven’t really got anything else planned for today, but if you want to, we could you know...go somewhere. After the candy.” How on earth was he supposed to suffer through an entire day of walking around with her, making awkward conversation? He almost felt like flailing but tried to breathe deeply and not make a big deal out of this. It was ridiculous. He was seventeen and it was about time that he started dealing with people outside of his comfort zone. After all, once he finished Hogwarts, he was going to need to learn anyway. Might as well get a head start. Having made up his mind, Kris nodded to himself, then smiled at Jeona.

"I'd like that very much." She smiled. Her plans had actually been to go back to Hogwarts and study like hell but this sort of distraction felt justified. She had to be sure Kris was safe no matter what.
Her head was still feeling very swirly and tingly so she leapt up and took Kris by the elbow to keep her steady. He was a strong guy who could hold her up and she hoped he didn't mind that she was sort of hanging off of him. She had to stick close to him and do something to help him.
"What sort of candy were you thinking about?" She asked, trying to make conversation, no matter how lame. "My best advice, stay away from the Acid pops. They seem to have a bad batch today." She tossed the one she had been sucking on into the dirt.

He smiled when she took his elbow, hanging onto him as if she was going to fall over without the support. It made him worry a little, but she seemed to be alright, at least, she was joking around about the Acid pops and smiling at him a little. It was encouraging, even though Kristian wasn’t completely sure how to handle this situation. He barely, if ever, interacted with females. If he was perfectly honest he’d say that they scared him a little.
”Any kind, really. I like chocolate. Louis is more into healthy things, but I just love...having candy and eating it. It’s a miracle I’m not completely overweight” He poked at his own stomach, wondering how on earth he could eat this much candy and never gain any weight. Not that he minded. And he supposed that working at the club made sure that he had enough exercise. Even if he was ashamed of his line of work, it did have positive sides to it, he supposed.
”Is there anything else you’d like to do, after visiting Honeydukes?” They were still close to the shop, so he pushed the door open for her like a true gentleman would. ”Maybe get a drink somewhere or stock up on some supplies?”

"Supplies! That's great! I mean, yes." She blushed. She was thinking 'supplies' as in wands and weaponry. Depending on what her vision meant, they could need all of that and more. She hoped he was a good fighter if it came to it. She could be on the floor blaasted out of her gourd with another vision in the middle of an attack and he'd have to help them both.
But there was no need to get that emotional or imaginative. Nothing seemed to be amiss. Maybe her vision was about something else entirely. "Maybe we should get a drink. and have a nice chat. A relaxed one. I don't know anything about you at all. I'm a great listener." She hugged his elbow more. Maybe he would trust her. She'd like some idea where this vision came from and if it were coming from him, she could rule out a massive assault on Hogsmeade.

Kristian smiled when she seemed so excited about getting supplies – of course he was thinking about quills and ink and the like, though he wouldn’t mind going wherever she planned to head. As she told him she would like to get a drink and get to know him better, he flushed a little, glad that he had brought Louis up in their conversation. He hoped that she wasn’t thinking of hooking him up with someone, which was where talks with girls tended to lead in some cases.
”Me? I’m not really that interesting” He bit his lip, grabbing a large Honeyduke bag which they could stuff with candy. Luckily his job left him with enough money to get through daily life at Hogwarts. Though the thought of not having enough money to stay in school scared him, he also wished there was a way that he could stop stripping.
”If you really want to know though...well, I suppose I could share my dramatic tale” His attempt at a joke, though he seemed to be the only one laughing. Heading towards the sugar quills, he stuffed some of those in his bag, finding that the shop was a lot less crowded than it had been before. ”It’s just me and mum at home. Dad died when I was almost fifteen.” Before she could go and say how sorry she was, he mumbled ”I was relieved.”

Jeona's eyebrows raised when Kris mumbled that last part but she said nothing. Krys seemed such a gentle and soft spoken person that a statement like that was like a slap in the face. She suddenly felt very sorry for him. She got the sense that something huge must have happened for Krys to feel that way and it must have been horrible. His father really hurt sweet, shy Kris in such a way?
"I'm sorry." She said, referring to Krys' feelings, not the death of his father. She didn't know her dad well and he didn't stick around to be her dad but she couldn't imagine being that filled with anger about his absense. She could hardly compare her situation to his. Whatever it was.
She didn't want to pry... but she really did want to pry. Being a seer hadn't yet been able to pay off in such a way that she could just know everyone's secrets. Maybe someday she could achieve that level of Miss Busy Body McKnow-It-All but she was at a disadvantage now. She really was curious about this.
"If you don't want to talk about this, we don't have to." She said in such a way that begged for him to talk about it. He could trust her. She may have been leaping to know his pain but she wasn't callous enough to tell everyone she knew.

It was obvious from the way she looked at him that it had come as a surprise, and Kristian really should have guessed that she wanted to know more about it. It still came as a surprise when she mentioned, in that soft voice of hers, that he didn’t have to talk about it if he didn’t want to. From her tone of voice he read that she meant something different, that she really did want him to share. Awkward for a moment, Kris wondered why she seemed so intent on finding out who he was and what he had gone through.
It also came as a surprise that he didn’t mind all too much. Now that he had told the most important person in his life, he found that hiding his secrets weren’t as important as they used to be. Of course, this didn’t apply to the stripping, but as far as his personal life, his father, was concerned, he didn’t mind anyone knowing as much as he used to.
”I don’t mind. It’s really just not something I talk about a lot. I don’t want people to feel sorry for me, you know?” Kristian glanced at her for a moment, hoping that she understood why he hadn’t brought it up before, why he wasn’t dying to share his story with the world. ”What it boils down to is that my dad never really accepted magic. He’s had a history with it, let’s keep it at that. From the moment he found out I was magical, he pretty much...tried to beat it out of me.” For the moment, Kris left it at that.

"Wow." She said before she could stop herself. Jeona had never heard such a thing nor could she believe it could ever happen. She knew her own father would never believe she was a witch if she told him and he'd have a giant meltdown but never to the extent of raising a hand to her. Her father had been sort of a hippie. He was bare foot, eco-friendly and he wide eyed ideas about peace and harmony. He would be in denial about magic being real but she got the impression that he'd be accepting of her in every way.
"I am so sorry. That's so horrible." She hugged his arm which she still had a hold of. "I am so glad you never have to go through that again."
Jeona had to wonder if the blood she'd seen was a message from Kris. Beatings produce blood but what she'd seen was a flood. The Shoppe had been swimming in blood. A lot more than what some innocent, gentle guy could produce. But still, most visions were never quite logical anyway which completely defeated the thrill of having the powers of divination.
She had to stick with him, just to be sure. "Some muggles just don't understand and never could. I'm never telling my father about me." Of course, she wouldn't ever face the same discrimination Kris did but she wanted him to know she could empathize.

Kristian nodded when she said some people would never understand about magic. ”The thing is, he did know about magic beforehand. He used to date someone magical, but she got killed. Sometimes I think that he just settled for my mother. Like she was second best.” That thought always made him so angry. His mother was...well he adored her. Put her on a pedestal and even that wasn’t good enough. It would never make up for all that she had gone through, all the hurt she had suffered just to keep him out of harms way.
”He hurt her too. When I wasn’t around, or when she tried to protect me. The last time he hurt her, he beat her so badly that she became deaf.” His voice was fairly even throughout the whole ordeal, though it trembled when he mentioned the after effects of his fathers beatings. It was something he still didn’t like to think about, especially because it had led to his current job. Biting his lip, Kris suddenly found himself in a mood to share. ”She hasn’t been able to work since. Which is why I’m trying to hold the family together. I work to pay the rent, my Hogwarts tuition...everything. It’s hard sometimes.”
