♥ ♥ l e v i. heaven bend to take my hand and lead me through the fire be the long awaited answer to a long and painful fight The other came closer, and Levi felt his heart quicken its tempo as Rhys reached out for his hand. The Hufflepuff inched both of his own forward, and after sliding the fingers of both hands in between the Ravenclaw's he smiled a bit. He'd never held hands with anyone in the past, either -- not like this, anyway.
”I think I would like to try...”
A shiver ran down the smaller boy's spine at the words and he followed his friend's eyes up to Cali, who was busy dangling above and peering down at them. He almost didn't feel like this was actually happening -- the Hufflepuff was half wondering if he was just dreaming at the moment. He hadn't expected Rhys to even like him, not to mention be willing to date him. It was too unreal.
”You’re very sweet, and you make me happy.”
Cheeks darkening again, the boy released a soft, childlike laugh and pulled his eyes back down to the other. "Heh..thanks. You...you are too." Not really sure what to do, Levi decided to take his chances and just flat out ask the Ravenclaw if he would date him. Rhys had basically already said that he was interested in doing so, and so Levi's fears were gradually subsiding.
"Um, so, will you..." Levi looked down for a moment, still feeling painfully shy about this whole situation. His blue eyes stared at their clasped hands, and then he continued in a much softer tone, "will you go out with me?"

"Um, so, will you...will you go out with me?"
Rhys was happy with the contact, holding hands was a bigger deal than he had expected it to be. Whenever he focused on those warm fingers in his, something started to flutter in his stomach. Brushing his thumb over the Hufflepuffs knuckles, he looked back from Cali to Levi, glad that the other boy was blushing as well. It was a rather odd thing, being so close to someone after knowing him for a long time. Suddenly everything was different, but he liked it.
”You mean like, dating? Boyfriends?” The Ravenclaw had to clarify it somehow. Going out with someone could just mean going somewhere with a friend, though he was fairly certain that Levi hadn’t meant it like that. Nevertheless, his answer was the same. ”Yeah...Yeah, I’d like that.” He tried to forget about what this would mean, what would or could happen in the future. Jasper would be highly disappointed, Toby might actually be pleased with this turn of events, and his parents...well he honestly didn’t want to think about that.
He wondered sometimes, what it would be like to come out to his parents. His mum was very religious and he hated the thought of upsetting her. It wasn’t like he hadn’t tried to be straight, it just didn’t seem to work. Girls had never made his heart skip the way Levi did. He had never wanted to date a girl, be someone’s boyfriend. It just didn’t appeal to him, whereas holding hands, spending time with Levi, being close to him, that was definitely appealing.

• • l e v i. it’s not that unusual when everything is beautiful. it’s just another ordinary miracle today. ~ ”You mean like, dating? Boyfriends?”
Levi nodded softly, still staring down at their hands and enjoying the affectionate and comforting feelings that the contact provoked. Rhys's fingers gently swept across his knuckles, and the corners of Levi's mouth twitched upward. The more time he spent with the Ravenclaw, the more he liked him, and the boy was being driven crazy with his own lack of skill in these situations. He wanted to be able to convey his feelings and emotions coolly and smoothly, but instead all he could manage was a tense, nervous excitement.
”Yeah...Yeah, I’d like that.”
Rhys had accepted him. With those simple words, the two were now considered official. They were dating. "Thanks...," the Hufflepuff barely said, although immediately afterward he felt that it was a stupid thing to have voiced. He glanced up at his now-boyfriend, allowing their eyes to melt together, and watched him for a moment. Blue eyes met with blue eyes, and Levi bit his lower lip again.
He was thinking about kissing Rhys.
Levi had never kissed anyone before, and while the idea sort of scared him it was also wildly enticing. The room was dark, only moonlight shining on the teenagers' faces, their fingers were laced together, and they had just finished admitting that they liked each other -- what could be more perfect? They were technically dating now, so it would have been appropriate, right?
Levi couldn't bring himself to do it. He wanted to, but at the same time he thought that it was way too soon -- Rhys and him were still barely more than friends. The Hufflepuff didn't want to move things too fast, and he had absolutely no idea whether Rhys would even be comfortable with a kiss. It meant quite a bit more than just holding hands did.

Rhys was barely aware of the fact that he was breathing as he looked at Levi, waiting for an answer. When the small nod was given he breathed out a sigh of relief, swallowing something as he smiled down at the Hufflepuff. He was glad that the younger male wasn’t all cool and smooth about this, if only because he wasn’t. He felt, that as the older of the two, he should probably be a little more mature in this case, and know what was going on. However, because Levi didn’t, he felt that it was alright, not to know exactly how to approach their change in relationship status.
When they looked at each other, Levi bit his lip, making the Ravenclaw wonder what was going on. He was happy, wasn’t he? Or was he worried about something? Rhys almost asked, but he wasn’t sure what he’d say when the other would bring up Jasper. Even though he knew that they had never been more than friends, it was hard for others to see it the same way. Could he really deal with it if Levi set rules? Asked him not to share his bed with Jasper? It was hardly fair to demand something like that from Jasper when he had admitted to hating it when his best friend did the same.
The moment was perfect though, as long as he didn’t think about stuff like that. Here they were, in the Tower, holding hands and smiling at each other. It was simple, it was sweet, and it meant more than he could put into words. He had barely been aware of the fact that he liked Levi, until Kris pointed it out to him. No matter how odd that sounded, Rhys knew it was true. He did like Levi. A lot. He had just never...even gave the idea of dating him much thought. Why would the younger male want to date him, after all? It was safer and easier not to worry about it.
But now they were, and it made him happy. Genuinely happy. The kind of happy that he usually felt when Jasper was in a good mood and they spent the day together. He gave Levi’s hand a slight squeeze, leaning in before he properly thought about the situation. They were boyfriends now. Kissing him...was part of that. Though he chickened out at the last moment, pressing his lips half to the boys cheek, half to his mouth. He lingered for a moment, wondering how the younger male would respond.

• • l e v i. it’s not that unusual when everything is beautiful. it’s just another ordinary miracle today. ~ Silence settled peacefully around the two, only the soft sound of their breaths sinking into the air. Their eyes remained locked on each other, gentle smiles were carved onto their expressions, and they just stood there, together. Levi's gaze swallowed in everything about Rhys in a positive manner; it seemed like everything about the Ravenclaw was perfect right now. His face, his eyes, his nose, his hair, his lips -- Rhys was just amazing.
Levi felt the other squeeze his hand softly, and then within a second his boyfriend was leaning in toward him. Levi's pulse quickened and his eyes widened a bit, suddenly afraid. Rhys was going to kiss him? The Hufflepuff wanted it, of course, but he couldn't help but freak out. He tensed, and as his boyfriend's lips came closer the Hufflepuff turned his face slightly away to the side. Rhys seemed to have done the same, and the kiss ended up landing on Levi's cheek.
For a moment, the Hufflepuff contemplated leaning forward and changing their position into a hug just to attempt to erase some of the embarrassment. It would break the cheek-kiss and get his face away from Rhys, so he wouldn't have to worry about kissing for at least another couple minutes. Still, Levi was hesitant in unleashing that plan; it seemed like rejection, and anyway, it would also be extremely easy just to turn a couple centimeters to the side and have their lips meet. It seemed fairly obvious now that his boyfriend was open for kissing, and Levi did want to kiss him.
He was just nervous.
Swallowing, the Hufflepuff allowed his eyes to close and he turned his face. To him, it almost seemed like the whole thing was happening in slow motion; to him, this was a seriously big deal. Millimeter by millimeter his own lips moved, brushing against Rhys's cheek and then stopping when they were pressing against his boyfriend's own mouth. At that point, Levi's mind pretty much blanked.

Rhys had stopped breathing alltogether when his lips had landed against the others skin, intensely aware of how close they were and the fact that Levi was moving so very slowly to meet his mouth. He hadn’t had too much experience with kissing people, especially not people he liked. Sure, Remy was nice, he was a sweet and great guy, but he wasn’t say...Levi. His mind almost whispered Jasper, but he quickly forced that back. He didn’t like Jasper in that way.
So it was a big deal to the both of them, and his fingers were actually trembling somewhat, giving the small tremors over to the others skin seeing as their hands were still laced. It made him blush a little, though everything ended with a small gasp as their lips were suddenly connected. It was like all other parts of him had disappeared and nothing but his mouth existed – at least, every nerve seemed centered there. Funny. This had never happened to him before. Kissing Remy has been nice, but he had been acutely aware of everything happening around them.
Slowly, very slowly, Rhys reached out and wrapped his arms around Levi, bringing the two of them a little closer. They were definitely heading from friend territory into boyfriend land, but he liked it all the same. Although nothing would ever be the same as Jasper, Levi was definitel making him happy.

• • l e v i. it’s not that unusual when everything is beautiful. it’s just another ordinary miracle today. ~ The smaller boy held the kiss for only a few seconds, and then he shyly pulled away and allowed his eyes to flutter open momentarily. His lips pulled into a wide smile, and just as he was about to giggle the Hufflepuff pushed it away and leaned into Rhys again. This time he kissed him a degree harder, having gained some confidence, though it was still nothing but sweet and innocent.
As the Ravenclaw's hands released their grip on Levi's fingers, the Hufflepuff allowed them to escape. Rhys lifted his arms and pulled Levi closer, and the smaller boy nervously did the same, resting one hand on his friend's shoulder and one at the back of his neck. This was the first time he'd actually felt like a teenager in a long time.
Thoughts flitted through the creature's mind as he stood there kissing his boyfriend, though it was extremely hard to focus on anything but the fact and the feeling of his lips on someone else's. He thought about how if he ever had kids and they asked him about his first kiss he would have to tell them that it was with a guy, and then he decided that he wouldn't care. In fact, he almost felt proud about his first kiss being with a boy -- at least he liked Rhys. At least the kiss was with someone special and had meaning.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, the Hufflepuff broke their lips' contact. He still felt like he was in a dream. He still had doubts that this was even happening. He gazed softly at Rhys, his emotion clear on his face, and then shifted his arms a bit and pulled the other closer to him in a hug.

Their first kiss, as well as their second kiss, was nice and sweet. Innocent, but it meant so much. It made him happy. To the point where he wanted to tell Jasper, wanted to run to him and share this soft, fuzzy, warm feeling that had seemed to settle in his stomach in his heart. Was this how his best friend felt whenever he kissed Gale? Because if he did...well that was sorta okay. He understood now, better than he had before.
Levi pulled back only to wrap arms around him in a hug, which Rhys returned quickly but carefully, holding the smaller Hufflepuff to him. He liked physical contact, had always loved cuddling up with Jasper and sleeping in the same bed at night, the warmth and the safety made him smile, even after all this time. But this...this was so different and at the same time it was so much like the experiences that he’d had with Jas.
Looking down at his younger lover, Rhys brushed his lips over the boys forehead, in an infinitely tender gesture. He smiled then, wondering what was on the others mind, what he was thinking about. He knew better than to break the fragile silence though. This was...it was perfect, this moment right here. It was the first time in a long while that he had been truly happy.

• • l e v i. it’s not that unusual when everything is beautiful. it’s just another ordinary miracle today. ~ Shutting his eyes as he and his boyfriend embraced each other, Levi contented himself with simply breathing and listening. He felt more confident right now than he'd ever felt before, and he felt more happy than he'd felt in quite a long time. A gentle fervor had spread throughout his body, and his heart continued to flutter wildly within his rib cage. He really liked Rhys.
The other boy's lips brushed softly against Levi's forehead, and the younger teen responded by tightening his hug for a moment and nuzzling further into Rhys's neck. A slightly shaky breath was inhaled, and then Levi pressed forward and kissed his boyfriend's throat. He had originally come to this tower seeking solitude, but now the fortuitous meeting between him and Rhys seemed like a blessing. Kissing the Ravenclaw's neck again, just as soft as the first time, Levi released an inaudible sigh. He was immensely grateful for his friend's acceptance and returned feelings.
Drifting into focusing on the gentle, hurried beating of Calixto's leathery wings, Levi opened his eyes. The effect of the silence was slowly becoming evanescent, and the Hufflepuff felt that words would be favorable rather soon. If the quiet was allowed to continue for much longer, the moment would only die.
"You're really great, you know..." The Hufflepuff whispered, unable to think of much else to say. He didn't want to change the topic to something unrelated to the two of them, and there wasn't a whole ton on-topic that he could say without sounding too doting. He didn't want Rhys to think he was completely in love with him or anything; he wasn't. He just liked him. A lot.
