Ashley had been holding his breath when August jumped back into the hug, feeling the urge to nuzzle his neck and yet stopping himself - he didn't want to scare the other. Ash had experience with being a boyfriend, he'd been with Noah for over two years. They had shared everything, first kisses, first hesitant touches, until eventually it had settled into a routine. A happy routine, but still. The thought of experiencing all of this with someone else was giving him goosebumps.
"Do you think it could be as boyfriends? It's just... I don't really know what I'm doing. I've never been anyone’s boyfriend before. Do you mind?"
He felt something happy bubble up in his throat and couldn't help beaming at the other. His coffee eyes were soft as he brushed his thumb over August's bottom lip. "No, I don't mind at all" Ash started softly, looking at him, needing August to see, to understand, that whatever he wanted, whatever felt comfortable with, it was okay. There was no rush. "We can take it slow. We have all the time in the world. I'm just so happy that you want to be my boyfriend."
He could hardly believe it, even when he said the words out loud. August wanted to be his boyfriend. August wanted to date him and be with him, despite the fact that he was in a wheelchair. In a happy daze, Ash took the others hand and pressed a kiss to the cold skin. "I really, really want to be your boyfriend too."

Even though it was awkward, leaning forwards with his arms wrapped around Ash, August still felt safe and right. He could trust Ashley to take care of him and he knew that while the other Hufflepuff may have felt uncertain about his capability before it was August that would be needing the help and guidance now. He met Ash's gaze tentatively with his own, flinching the slightest amount as he felt Ashley's thumb on his lip, his breath hitching. He didn't pull away from the touch though, instead allowing the sensation to illicit a shiver from him that had nothing to do with the cold.
Ash's words only helped to reassure him and he nodded, grinning happily. "Slow is good, because I'll need everything explained." He admitted sheepishly, not really catching on to what Ashley was doing with his hand until the kiss was firmly planted. August gave a tiny gasp, his smile never faltering, then forced himself to pull away so that they could set off towards the school. "So, this dating thing. Does it always start with cocoa?" He asked as they moved. "Because I like cocoa."
