At some point, probably after Christmas Break, I'm going to get surgery for my wrists again. Since not everyone knows what the problem is, I thought it might be useful to put a little notice here. In a nutshell, I've had problems with my wrist for about ten years now. My left wrist has been operated on quite a few times (around 10 times or so) and my right one has recently been operated on as well. At this moment, the outlook is pretty bad. If I have extensive physical therapy, I might be able to carry a plate of dinner in the future. At the moment I'm not allowed to carry anything with my left hand.
BUT.
I went to see my doctor yesterday and he told me there is another option. It will involve removing three of the tiny bones in my hand. They're the ones that cause me pain because one of them is crumbling down and the ligatures between the bones are too weak. He has good hopes that when they remove the bones, I'll have more space in my wrist to manipulate, so I won't be in pain (hopefully, he says he's 80% sure it will) and I will be able to use my wrist more freely.
So, when he does the surgery, if it helps, I'll still not be able to carry anything on left, but hopefully with extensive physio I'll be able to do really simple stuff like carrying a cup of water or brush my hair. It's really minimal, but I'm hoping that I can because I'm really tired of being in so much pain. Also, when the pain fades, I'll be able to put on a brace and carry some stuff with my left hand again. It won't ever heal, but I'm hoping that it will improve.
Where does this leave me for now...I'll still be around, I don't know when the surgery is, but I'm hoping somewhere in January. I have no idea how long it's going to take me to recover from it since it's a pretty drastic operation, but I'll try and be around as much as I can, even if it's just to hear you guys ramble to me on MSN As for now, as always, I'll try to post, but sometimes my wrists need breaks. I figured it was time I informed you all about that
